Gonzalez is batting .205 with a pair of home runs this spring, but he's healthy and ready to go after leading the majors in RBI last year with 116.

What Gonzalez does or does not do this spring matters little. He will anchor the middle of the Dodgers' lineup again in 2015.

Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a run, a home run, and two RBI against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Gonzalez is as consistent as they come. Having hit his 20th homer and driven in his 94th run of the season, Gonzalez is now six RBI away from his seventh 20-homer, 100-RBI season in the majors. The 32-year-old first baseman is closing in on yet another productive season.

Gonzalez (back) is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres.

Gonzalez sat out the Dodgers' last game Wednesday with a sore back, but he will return to action following a team off day. As he has done regularly of late, Gonzalez will man first base and bat third Friday night.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Wednesday with a stiff back, the Los Angeles Times' Dylan Hernandez reports.

He dealt with a stiff back earlier in the week, and while he may indeed be still slightly bothered by it, he's also been terrible against lefties this season (.185/.246/.266), so it was convenient to have him sit against southpaw Wade Miley. He will have an extra day to rest up as the Dodgers have an off day Thursday.

Gonzalez is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

This isn't a big surprise with lefty Wade Miley on the hill, as Gonzalez is slashing just .185/.246/.266 against southpaws this season. Add in the fact that Scott Van Slyke has destroyed Miley this season, and it's a very well justified day off for Gonzalez.

Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in the Dodgers' 11-3 loss to the Mets on Sunday.

It's Gonzalez's second multi-hit game in a row. The first baseman is batting a strong .290 in August and has raised his average to .275 on the season. He has a hit in 13 of 17 games. After a poor start to the season, Gonzalez is quietly one of the hottest hitters in the Dodgers lineup.

Gonzalez had a game Saturday, knocking in five runs as part of a 2-for-3 night against the visiting Mets. He also plated two runs and smacked his 18th homer of the year, a two-run shot.

The five steaks snapped a seven-game skid with no RBI for Gonzo, who now has 88 this season. At this rate, Gonzalez should easily knock in the 12+ runs needed to reach triple digits in RBI for the seventh time in nine full MLB seasons.

Gonzalez left Friday's game with back stiffness but is in the lineup for Saturday's tilt against the Brewers, Ken Gurnick of reports.

The fact that Gonzalez is in Saturday's lineup likely means that Friday's shortened game was more precautionary than necessary. As long as he's able to fully compete Saturday, this minor injury shouldn't be taken too seriously.
