Gonzalez hit a three-run shot off Trevor Cahill in the third inning, and he also doubled off the right-hander in the game. Gonzalez has a nine-game hitting streak and has homered in four straight. After a slow start, the first baseman leads the National League in runs scored, he's second in home runs and third in RBI through two weeks of play.

He is fully expected to be in the starting lineup for the Dodgers' season-opener on Saturday against the Diamondbacks. The game will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

He's being selected after the top seven first base options are off the board, making him a terrific value in fantasy drafts. He's plated 99 or more runs in each of the last seven seasons, and should have no problem continuing that trend in 2014.

Gonzalez hit the home run, his first of the spring, off Reds reliever Sam LeCure in the sixth inning. He's 5-for-12 through the first few games of spring and appears to be in midseason form already. The 31-year-old looks primed for another big season as the Dodgers' first sacker.

Gonzalez is a three-time winner, which probably makes him the favorite by default. It's the first time Goldschmidt and Rizzo have been named finalists. The winner will be announced next week.

Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two home runs as the Dodgers avoided elimination with a 6-4 win over the Cardinals in Wednesday's Game 5 of the NLCS.

Gonzalez is one of the few hitters in the Dodgers' lineup that is healthy and dangerous, and he continues to torment Cardinals pitching in this series. Gonzalez scored the first run of the game after a single in the second inning, and he later crushed a Joe Kelly pitch 450 feet according to ESPN's HitTracker. His second shot of the day was also a no-doubter, off reliever John Axford. The first baseman is now hitting .353/.450/.824 through the first five games of the series that now heads back to St. Louis for Friday's Game 6.

Adrian Gonzalez singled and smacked a two-run homer in Thursday's win over the Braves.

Gonzalez's longball to dead center field in the third inning extended the Dodgers' lead to 4-0, which was more than Clayton Kershaw needed. Mark Ellis, Yasiel Puig and A.J. Ellis also had a two-hit night, while both Ellis', Skip Schumaker and Hanley Ramirez knocked in runs in addition to A-Gone's dinger. The Dodgers and Braves will match up again on Friday.
