Perez signed a minor league contract with the Tigers that includes an invitation to spring training, Emily Waldon of 2080 Baseball reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perez batted .276 to go with 27 doubles and 16 stolen bases with the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate, although he also has 246 major league at-bats to his name. His success during his time in the big leagues was quite limited, though, so the 30-year-old will likely act as organizational depth going forward.

EDGE Analysis
Perez only had four hits this spring. He is merely organizational depth.

Perez has earned an invitation to the Cubs' spring training.
EDGE Analysis
After a 2015 season in which Perez had some success in 22 games with the Giants (batting .282/.300/.359), the 28-year-old outfielder will join another big league club at spring training. However, it would likely take a strong showing in March to put him in consideration for a roster spot out of camp.

Perez was outrighted off the Giants' 40-man roster Friday, Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News repots.
EDGE Analysis
Perez hit .282 in 22 games with the Giants last season, but the team decided to remove him from the 40-man roster to open a spot for another player. It remains to be seen if Perez will remain with the Giants or look for work with another team.

Perez (oblique) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Giants had already ruled Perez out for the season on Tuesday, but Wednesday's move cleared roster space for the club to select Kevin Frandsen's contract.

Perez has a strained oblique and will miss the rest of the season, MLB.com's Chris Haft reports.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to missing the rest of the regular season, Perez will also be forced to skip winter ball for the first time in six years. He should be ready to go for the start of 2016.

Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Thursday's 9-1 win over the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Perez was actually getting ready to play second base for the second consecutive game due to the uncertainty of Matt Duffy's health. But that never came to be and he was moved back to center. With Angel Pagan's (knee) return looming, Perez will either be relegated to a bench role or briefly sent down to the minors until rosters expand on September 1.

Perez has been added to Wednesday's lineup and will bat seventh as the Giants' center fielder.
EDGE Analysis
Gregor Blanco was a late scratch from the lineup Wednesday due to a left hip strain. Perez will slot into center field and bat seventh against Chicago's Kyle Hendricks. If manager Bruce Bochy holds Blanco out of the lineup Thursday, Perez is a leading candidate to start in his place.

Perez was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday. Even with Hunter Pence (forearm) expected to miss the first month of the season, Perez was unable to lock down consistent reps in the San Francisco outfield. He'll provide organizational depth at the minor league level, but may be just an injury or two away from getting a call back to the big leagues.

Perez (back) will return to the lineup for Wednesday's Grapefruit League game against the Brewers, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Perez's lower-back tightness that caused him to be scratched from Monday's lineup must have been minor, as he required just two days before returning. He could shoulder a heavier workload for the first part of the season with Hunter Pence (forearm) out for a portion of the beginning of the season, but it appears Norichika Aoki will get the first crack at the starting spot.
