Trevor Bauer SP CLE 6 Days

Trevor Bauer tossed six shutout innings, scattering five hits and one walk while striking out nine batters on Wednesday night for Triple-A Columbus.

Bauer seems to have finally taken that leap that the Indians wanted to see when they acquired him as part of the Shin-Soo Choo trade. Given that most of the rotation in Cleveland is struggling, the 23-year-old right-hander may not be in Columbus for much longer.

Indians optioned RHP Trevor Bauer to Triple-A Columbus.

Bauer was the 26th man during Wednesday's doubleheader, throwing six impressive innings in the first game but taking a loss. He'll likely be back the next time the club needs a starter.

Trevor Bauer allowed only two runs -- one earned -- over six innings on Wednesday but the Indians dropped the second half of their doubleheader with the Padres.

Bauer showed good control and was at times dominant, racking up eight strikeouts while surrendering only four hits and two walks. The former top prospect also had a promising debut last week at the Triple-A level and could become a real weapon for the Indians at some point this summer.

Indians recalled RHP Trevor Bauer from Triple-A Columbus.

Trevor Bauer SP CLE 15 Days

Trevor Bauer is expected to be called up from Triple-A Columbus to start in Wednesday's doubleheader against the Padres.

The Indians haven't made an official announcement, but Bauer is with the team. The 23-year-old struck out nine batters over six innings of one-run ball in his season debut in Triple-A last week, but we wouldn't roll with him outside of deeper leagues.

Trevor Bauer SP CLE 15 Days

Indians right-handed pitching prospect Trevor Bauer allowed one run, two hits, and two walks while striking out nine for Triple-A Columbus.

Bauer's struggles have been well documented, but he could be putting it all together. He consistently threw his fastball between 92-95, showing that the velocity he showed in spring training has carried over into the regular season. If he gets called up, and he could be called up to start one of the games on Wednesday, he could be worth picking up in all formats.

Indians optioned RHP Trevor Bauer to Triple-A Columbus.

Bauer displayed improved velocity this spring, but the results still weren't there. He yielded nine runs -- eight earned -- on 12 hits and five walks in seven Cactus League innings. The 23-year-old right-hander will continue working on his craft in the minors.

Trevor Bauer SP CLE 1 Month

Trevor Bauer was bashed around by the Angels, surrendering seven runs (six earned) in two innings on Monday.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports noted that Bauer was consistently hitting 96-97 MPH, but the right-hander struggled with location and the Angels didn't seem to have trouble squaring him up when he was in the strike zone. Recently given a vote of confidence by manager Terry Francona, Bauer will start the season with Triple-A Columbus and try to work his way back into the big leagues.

Trevor Bauer SP CLE 1 Month

Indians manager Terry Francona said Sunday that he remains optimistic about Trevor Bauer's future and his ability to help the Indians in 2014.

Francona noted, "I think we're going to see dividends this year at some point. It may not be April 1, but at some point this year I think we'll see dividends, and once he gets here and figures it out, he's got a chance to be a dominating pitcher. That's the idea anyway." He's expected to begin the year at Triple-A Columbus.

Trevor Bauer SP CLE 2 Months

Trevor Bauer looked sharp on Thursday, holding the Cubs scoreless in two innings as the Indians won 1-0.

Bauer struck out four while allowing three hits and a walk. The 23-year-old is likely to begin the season with Triple-A Columbus, but if his improved delivery bears fruit, he could contribute to the big league club sooner rather than later.
