Yovani Gallardo threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, to earn the win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Gallardo walked just one while striking out eight. It was a much-needed showing for the right-hander, as he'd fallen on hard times since his stellar April. The win moved him to 4-4 with a 3.71 ERA and 1.25 WHIP on the year. He'll face the Reds on Saturday.

Yovani Gallardo was lit up on Tuesday, giving up six runs on eight hits over five innings in a loss to the Twins.

The right-hander walked just one while striking out six, but the big damage came on two swings that made contact. Josh Willingham hit a three-run home run in the third inning, and Brian Dozier's two-run homer in the fifth capped the scoring for the Twins. After a strong start, Gallardo now owns a 4.08 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 12 starts. He'll take on the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Yovani Gallardo yielded three runs in 6 2/3 innings Wednesday in a win over the Orioles.

Giving up two homers and five walks in 6 2/3 innings isn't typically a recipe for success, but Gallardo made it work tonight. It was his first win since way back on April 6. He hasn't been lit up at any point, but he's gone from allowing no runs in his first two starts to one or two runs in the next three to three or four runs in each of the last six.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke announced Sunday that Yovani Gallardo (ankle) will make his next start on Wednesday against the Orioles.

That means Marco Estrada will have his start pushed back to Friday where he'll take on the Cubs. The ankle injury only caused Gallardo's start to be pushed back a couple of days, so don't expect it to linger and be a major issue moving forward. He can be started with confidence on Wednesday.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke confirmed Friday that Yovani Gallardo (ankle) will miss his scheduled start on Sunday.

Gallardo was scheduled to test his injured ankle with a bullpen session on Friday, and it doesn't appear to have gone well enough for him to make his start. Jimmy Nelson will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to pitch in his stead.

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel thinks Yovani Gallardo (ankle) is unlikely to start on Sunday against the Marlins.

It sounds like speculation, but it's obviously an educated guess on Haudricourt's part. Gallardo was slated to throw a bullpen session on Friday, and it must not have gone terribly well. Jimmy Nelson has been scratched from his outing at Triple-A Nashville Friday, so he could come up to start Sunday.

Gallardo left Tuesday's start against the Braves in the fourth inning after turning his left ankle, but X-rays came back negative and he reported improvement Thursday. If all goes well in the bullpen session, he'll be cleared to start Sunday against the Marlins.

Gallardo was injured during Tuesday's start when he turned the ankle while trying to field a chopper. He'll probably be fine for his next outing, but the Brewers don't figure to clear him until he gets through his between-starts bullpen session. Gallardo holds a 6.33 ERA in four starts this month.

Yovani Gallardo left Tuesday's start versus the Braves in the fourth inning with an apparent left foot injury.

Gallardo's foot slipped on the mound when he tried to field a chopper. After a lengthy discussion, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke and the trainer decided it would be best to pull the righty. Gallado allowed four runs on four hits and three walks over 3 1/3 frames before exiting.

Yovani Gallardo surrendered four earned runs in six innings Saturday as the Brewers fell to the Reds.

Gallardo coughed up nine singles in his second straight shaky outing. He had a great overall first month, but look for his numbers to normalize as the Brewers begin falling back to earth. Gallardo will carry a 2-1 record and 2.47 ERA into his next start against the Yankees.
