Erasmo Ramirez SP SEA 6 Days

Mariners optioned RHP Erasmo Ramirez to Triple-A Tacoma.

He struck out 10 while allowing two runs over seven innings against the Mets Tuesday but gets the boot because the M's needed to clear room for Wednesday starter Taijuan Walker. Ramirez will be back up later this season.

Erasmo Ramirez SP SEA 7 Days

Erasmo Ramirez allowed two runs and gave up five hits in his seven innings of work against the Mets on Tuesday.

Ramirez made the most of his recent call-up, striking out a season-high ten and walking just two as he lowered his ERA to 4.35. He had the misfortune of facing off against Jacob deGrom, who matched him pitch-for-pitch and ended up with the win, dropping Ramirez to 1-5 on the season. We'll see if the quality effort leads to a few more starts. Prior to this start, his last work had come against the Red Sox in late June.

Mariners recalled RHP Erasmo Ramirez from Triple-A Tacoma.

Ramirez will start for the Mariners on Tuesday night against the Mets. The 24-year-old right-hander has considerable upside, but he owns a 4.58 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 11 starts this season at the major league level and probably isn't worth the risk in standard fantasy formats.

Erasmo Ramirez will be recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday against the Mets.

This confirms the speculation over the past day or so. Ramirez owns a 4.58 ERA over 11 starts with the Mariners this season. He's a shaky option in fantasy leagues.

Erasmo Ramirez SP SEA 9 Days

Erasmo Ramirez is expected to be recalled to start on Tuesday against the Mets.

The Mariners have decided to keep Taijuan Walker in the minors for now, creating another opportunity for Ramirez. The righty holds a 4.58 ERA in 11 starts for the M's this season.

Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that "several clubs, including Milwaukee," are showing interest in Erasmo Ramirez.

It's not clear at this point whether talks with the Mariners and Brewers or any other team have progressed, but it's worth noting that Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com reported earlier Wednesday that the M's "could be close to making a trade." Ramirez has put up a 4.35 ERA over 184 1/3 innings with Seattle, but he's just 24 and sports a 3.24 mark during his minor league career.

Mariners optioned RHP Erasmo Ramirez to Triple-A Tacoma.

Ramirez allowed two runs over 4 1/3 innings in Tuesday's start, and as a result of his abbreviated outing the M's needed to make a move for some bullpen reinforcements. Ramirez will be back up at some point later this season.

Erasmo Ramirez yielded two runs on five hits over 4 1/3 innings to the Red Sox Tuesday in a no-decision.

Ramirez had a golden opportunity to pocket an easy win with his teammates battering Jake Peavy, but the hefty right-hander once again couldn't control his arsenal and was yanked in the middle of the fifth inning. He walked four, the third time in four outings that he's walked at least that many. Shockingly, tonight's two runs were the only ones he's surrendered in that stretch. Now 1-4 with a 4.58 ERA and 1.58 WHIP, Ramirez takes the show on the road with a Monday matchup scheduled in Houston.

Erasmo Ramirez got the no-decision despite tossing six shutout innings in Thursday's loss to the Padres.

Ramirez did his part and left in line for the win, but Dominic Leone allowed four runs in the seventh to put the kibosh on what would have been Ramirez's second win. Overall, Ramirez allowed only two hits and two walks while striking out three. He lowered his ERA to 4.62 with the effort. He'll go up against the Red Sox at home in his next outing.

Erasmo Ramirez SP SEA 1 Month

Erasmo Ramirez blanked the Rangers for five innings Saturday in a no-decision.

Ramirez has pitched 9 2/3 scoreless innings in his last two starts, seemingly still without earning any trust from Lloyd McClendon. Of course, he has walked nine over the course of the outings, so he is walking a very thin line. That said, he should have been a part of Seattle's rotation over Brandon Maurer all along. He'll be a sneaky spot starter in mixed leagues next week with the Padres on the schedule.
