Fuld is likely on the fringe to make the A's Opening Day roster and may need an injury to find his way on the squad.

The A's have made a number of acquisitions, including Chris Coghlan and Khris Davis, that could push Fuld off the 25-man roster. The A's do like Fuld's glove and speed and it is possible they could hang on to him as a 5th outfielder to use late in games on defense or on the base paths. The decision on Fuld will likely be made very near the start of the season and that assumes Coco Crisp is still healthy by then.

That is, unless the team brings in more outfield talent.

Fuld will make his third straight start in left field Sunday against the Giants.

The Athletics have lacked a true regular in left field for much of the season, and it looks like they're now extending Fuld a trial at the position. Given Fuld's meager offensive track record (.229/.309/.327 career line over 1,523 plate appearances), fantasy players shouldn't expect the increased starting opportunities to yield much value.

Fuld went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a 5-4 win over the Giants on Friday.

Fuld has had a disappointing year as this game rose his average above .200. The outfielder lost his everyday job to Billy Burns and it appears that was the right choice, as Burns is significantly outplaying Fuld this season. He may even have trouble making the A's 25-man roster to start next season.
