Andre Ethier OF LAD 7 Months

Ethier started back-to-back games on Saturday/Sunday, the first time he had done so since July 20-21.

Ethier gave days off to Yasiel Puig and Carl Crawford. He's still clearly fourth in line in the outfield pecking order.

Ethier is taking ground balls at first base and could be an option there should Adrian Gonzalez get hurt or need a day off, reports the Dodgers' official site.

Ethier still has a little value in NL-only formats as a backup outfielder and pinch-hitter, so this can only help. Barring an injury though, he'll still be on the bench most days.

Andre Ethier tripled and scored to lead the Dodgers past the Indians 1-0 on Monday.

Ethier led off the seventh inning with a towering fly to deep left off Corey Kluber that deflected off Michael Brantley's glove. Kluber coaxed a weak ground out to shortstop from Juan Uribe, froze A.J. Ellis on a curveball that was actually outside, intentionally walked Hanley Ramirez, and then gave up Clint Robinson's first career hit, an infield single that scored Ethier. The 32-year-old Ethier has been nothing more than NL-only fodder this year. After finishing 1-for-3 tonight, he's slashing a meager .249/.302/.373 with four homers and 31 RBI.

Andre Ethier blasted a three-run homer on Sunday, powering the Dodgers to a 6-0 victory over the Cardinals.

Ethier's three-run blast off Shelby Miller in the fifth inning provided more than enough support for Clayton Kershaw who was brilliant on the afternoon. With the 1-for-4 effort, Ethier is now hitting .248/.301/.365 with four homers and 31 RBI on the year.

Andre Ethier struck out in his only at-bat against the Cardinals on Friday.

Ethier, who didn't start because of a swollen knee, was forced to come on after Scott Van Slyke was ejected. The Dodgers face righties the next two days, so they'd prefer to have Ethier in center if he's healthy.

Andre Ethier is not in the Dodgers starting lineup on Friday due to swelling in his knee.

The swelling is from the effect of fouling a pitch off of his knee. Scott Van Slyke is getting the start in his place on Friday and would continue to see additional at-bats for as long as he remains sidelined.

Andre Ethier went 0-for-4 in the loss to the Padres on Friday and has one extra-base hit and one RBI in June.

By refusing to play Matt Kemp in center field, manager Don Mattingly has locked himself into playing Ethier fairly regularly lately and he's been a liability. If this keeps up, it dramatically increases the chances of a Joc Pederson callup.

Andre Ethier pulled up rather than crash into the wall trying to field Brandon Barnes' game-winning triple in the 10h inning Saturday against the Rockies.

It would have been a disappointing play regardless, but that Ethier seemed to get scared of the wall in the 10th inning of a tie game really didn't look very good. It probably won't have any ramifications, but it's one of those things that could add to the Dodgers' incentive to call up Joc Pederson to help out in center.

Andre Ethier had a homer and a three-run triple Tuesday to lead the Dodgers to a 6-3 win over the Reds.

The homer was just his third of the year, and the triple was his first. He scored twice after entering the game with just nine runs in 44 games this year. It's not that he hasn't been hitting -- he entered the night with a .323 average in May -- it's just that no one at the bottom of the order has been driving him in.

Rob Bradford of hears from an industry source that the Red Sox have not shown interest in a trade for Dodgers' outfielder Andre Ethier.

The Red Sox are exploring the trade market for outfielders, but Either isn't considered an option at this time and GM Ben Cherington said teams aren't really in the trade mindset quite yet. Ethier still has three years and $53.5 million left on his contract after 2014, a large sum of money for someone who is best utilized as a utility player due to his poor production against left-handed pitching.
