Miley tossed 6.2 scoreless innings at Washington on Thursday, but did not factor in the decision. He allowed eight hits and six walks while striking out four batters.

The crafty lefty has made three quality starts since his 10-run disaster on August 5. In terms of ERA and WHIP, Miley has been just serviceable this year, although he's been a pleasant surprise in strikeouts, racking up 157 Ks in 170 innings. He's got a tough matchup in his next turn, taking on the Dodgers at home.

Miley (7-8) was blasted for 10 runs over just 4.2 innings against the Royals on Tuesday. He gave up nine hits, walked three, struck out four, and allowed two home runs in the ugly loss.

The home run ball will always be something that haunts Miley he's among the league leaders in home runs allowed with 20 and Tuesday was no exception. Both home runs he allowed were three-run blasts, first to Salvador Perez in the third inning, then to Billy Butler in the fifth. Miley was coming off his best stretch of the year prior to Tuesday's debacle, going 4-1 with a 2.45 ERA over his previous six starts. He'll try to right the ship when he faces off with the Rockies on Sunday in his home park.

Wade Miley struck out eight while allowing one run over 6 2/3 innings in a win over the Braves on Sunday.

Miley allowed just five hits, all singles, while walking one in the start. Despite pitching well, it was his first win since May 10 as he's just 4-6 on the season. He's definitely NL-only worth given his recent performance, and his strikeouts -- he's fanned 122 in 126 2/3 innings this season -- make him a passable deep mixed league option as well. He'll carry a 4.42 ERA and 1.25 WHIP into Saturday's start at the Giants.
