Reed declined his outright to Triple-A Toledo, and will become a free agent, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Reed appeared in 32 games for the big league club in 2014, posting a 4.18 ERA. His only other major league stint came in 2013, in which he put up a 4.24 ERA in 16 games.

Police are investigating a claim that Evan Reed sexually assaulted a woman in a Motor City Casino hotel room on March 30. The woman told police that she met Reed at a bar and then didn't remember anything until waking up in a Motor City Casino hotel room. "The organization is aware of the very serious allegation that has been made against pitcher Evan Reed," Tigers officials said in a statement released Monday night. "This allegation is concerning and we are aware of an ongoing investigation. It would be inappropriate for the ballclub to comment further at this time." Reed hasn't been charged with a crime and is with the Tigers for a five-game roadtrip which will begin Tuesday.
