Diamondbacks re-signed OF Brent Clevlen to a minor league contract.

Clevlen, 28, hit .290/.366/.520 with 13 homers between Double- and Triple-A this year, but he hasn't made it up to the big leagues since 2010. He might get a spring training invite but would be a longshot to make the Diamondbacks' Opening Day roster next spring.

Clevlen re-signed with the Phillies on a minor league pact in January but apparently was given his release sometime between now and then. He's been assigned to Double-A Mobile and has already picked up five at-bats for them. Clevlen has 59 games of major league experience but split the 2011 season between two minor league teams and the independent leagues.

There's no word on whether he'll receive an invitation to spring training. Clevlen split his time between the Phillies and Reds organizations last season and put together a healthy .297/.383/.510 batting line with nine homers over 230 plate appearances. The 28-year-old won't crack the Opening Day roster but isn't a bad minor league depth guy.
