Jemile Weeks 2B BAL 9 Days
Jemile Weeks was sent back to Triple-A Norfolk.
Weeks was flown to New York as insurance in case David Lough needed to be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a concussion, but Lough passed all of his concussion tests and will remain on the O's active roster.

Jemile Weeks is meeting up with the Orioles in New York.
The Orioles are expected to officially add him to the 25-man roster before Wednesday's series-finale against the Yankees. No word on a corresponding roster move. Weeks probably won't get enough playing time to produce worthwhile value in standard fantasy leagues.

Orioles optioned INF Jemile Weeks to Triple-A Norfolk.
Weeks lost a position battle to Jonathan Schoop this summer by batting .171/.300/.195. The primary return in the Jim Johnson trade, Weeks is likely just organizational depth for the O's.
Jemile Weeks 2B BAL 1 Month
Jemile Weeks went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Sunday, leaving him with a .148 average this spring.
Weeks is being outplayed by Ryan Flaherty and Jonathan Schoop in the second base competition, so it doesn't look like he'll make the Orioles even if Manny Machado lands on the DL.
Jemile Weeks 2B BAL 2 Months
Jemile Weeks doubled, walked, stole a base and scored twice as the Orioles' leadoff hitter Friday.
Ryan Flaherty is the favorite to start at second base for the Orioles, but Weeks has a shot if he gets on base this spring. While the plan appears to be for Nick Markakis to lead off, Weeks would be a speedier alternative if he can secure a starting job.
Jemile Weeks 2B BAL 5 Months
Orioles acquired 2B Jemile Weeks and a player to be named later from the Athletics in exchange for RHP Jim Johnson.
Weeks had a promising rookie season but was way down the A's depth chart after batting just .219/.301/.300 the last two years. He lands in a good spot in Baltimore, as they're not set at the second base position. At best, though, he'll likely have to beat out a host of competitors for the job.

Athletics recalled INF Jemile Weeks from Triple-A Sacramento.
The 26-year-old former top prospect was hitting .271/.376/.369 with four homers, 40 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 130 games at Triple-A. He's split his time there between shortstop, second base and the outfield, and is likely to be used in a utility role with the A's.

Jemile Weeks played center field for the first time in his career this past Saturday at Triple-A Sacramento.
The A's aren't fully committed to changing his position yet, but they're clearly open to experimenting. Weeks was drafted as a second baseman (12th overall) in 2008 and has only played second base at the major league level. He's batting .264/.382/.366 this year in Triple-A.

Two scouts told Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle that the Athletics are willing to trade Jemile Weeks but are "asking for quite a bit" in return.
Weeks doesn't seem to really be in the A's plans anymore, as he's been used as a utility player and DH at Triple-A Sacramento lately. Though his recent track record in the majors is poor, he's a guy that could have some success with a change of scenery.
Jemile Weeks 2B BAL 11 Months
Jemile Weeks has been playing some shortstop at Triple-A Sacramento.
Weeks offered to learn the position in hopes that it would give him a better chance to be called up. He's actually appeared in more games as a shortstop (14) than he has as a second baseman (12) for Sacramento, and River Cats manager Steve Scarsone has told Bob Melvin that Weeks is "very playable" at the position. Weeks is batting .285/.413/.376 with two homers and eight steals at Triple-A.
