Trevor Cahill was terrific in Friday's victory over the Marlins, surrendering only one run on five hits over his eight innings.

Cahill walked four and struck out four on the night. The only blemish on his evening was an RBI single by Rob Brantly in the seventh inning. The 25-year-old righty has been extremely impressive in the early part of the season, posting a 2.33 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 43/24 K/BB ratio over 58 innings. He'll look to continue that dominance when he does battle against the Rockies in Colorado on Wednesday.

Trevor Cahill held the Phillies to one run in five innings Saturday but the Diamondbacks lost.

It was another fine outing from Cahill, who boasts a 2.70 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 39 strikeouts through his first 50 innings this season. He struck out five Philadelphia hitters and allowed only three hits. The right-hander will hope for more run support next week in Miami.

Trevor Cahill's hot start continued Monday, as he held the Dodgers to just two runs over seven innings in the 9-2 win.

He recorded a season-low two strikeouts and walked three batters, but Cahill kept the Dodgers in check with just one extra-base hit (a Carl Crawford solo homer). The sinkerballer failed to go six innings in each of his first two starts of the season, but since then he's put up a 1.83 ERA over five outings. He'll take on the Phillies over the weekend.

Trevor Cahill allowed one run in eight-plus innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Giants.

Cahill pitched three-hit ball over eight scoreless innings and then stayed in to start the ninth in a 1-0 game, only to get pulled after a leadoff single. J.J. Putz blew the lead from there. Cahill, of course, deserved better. And it's hard to see what the point was of having him start the ninth and then lifting him after a base hit. He was still at just 88 pitches.

Trevor Cahill notched his first victory of the season Thursday by giving up one unearned run over five innings in a 3-2 win over the Rockies.

Cahill limited the Rockies to just four hits, but he exhausted his pitch count by striking out four, walking six and hitting a batter. He induced 10 ground balls on the night and worked out a bases-loaded jam in his final inning of work. The 25-year-old now holds a 3.00 ERA through his first five starts and lines up to face the Giants next Tuesday at home.

Trevor Cahill didn't allow a run over seven-plus innings in Sunday's win over the Dodgers.

It was another solid outing for Cahill, who posted seven strikeouts in his last start. The Dodgers only managed six hits against him and he was able go deep into the game. He should be started with confidence in a matchup with the Rockies this weekend.
