Rizzo (back) could undergo a precautionary MRI on Tuesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The Cubs certainly didn't expect Rizzo to miss seven games when he first experienced back soreness last week, raising concern that a more severe ailment may be in play. If the issue doesn't clear up enough for Rizzo to return to the lineup Tuesday for the Brewers, it would make sense for the Cubs to take a closer look at his condition just to be on the safe side. Fortunately, the recently-expanded roster will allow the Cubs to give Rizzo as much time off as he needs to recover, without having to worry about a lack of depth at the position.
