Wil Myers (foot) played in the second game of Triple-A Durham's doubleheader on Saturday.

Myers was dealing with a bruised right foot that held him out of action Friday, but the injury obviously wasn't too serious. Myers is one of the top prospects in the game, and his MLB debut this season is more an issue of when than if. When he does arrive, he'll be a name to know.

Myers, who was reassigned to minor league camp earlier this month, is expected to return to action soon. The top prospect will begin the year at Triple-A Durham.

Rays reassigned RF Wil Myers and RHPs Juan Sandoval, J.D. Martin and Will Inman to minor league camp.

Myers was never expected to make the Opening Day roster, and the Rays will likely stash him in the minors for a few months to keep him from gaining "Super 2" status. He has little left to prove at the Triple-A level after batting .304 with 24 homers and 79 RBIs in 99 games last season. Sandoval, Martin and Inman were in camp as non-roster invites.

Wil Myers went 0-for-4 with a couple of strikeouts Friday versus the Phillies.

Myers isn't embarrassing himself by hitting .25 this spring, but with no homers, one RBI and 10 strikeouts in 34 at-bats, he also isn't making any sort of a push for a spot in Tampa Bay's outfield. Which might be for the best; the Rays have always intended to send him down in order to push back his free agency and arbitration clocks.
