Dee Gordon (hip) is out of the Dodgers' starting lineup Monday evening versus the Reds.

Gordon suffered a minor right hip injury on Saturday and has now been out of the lineup for two straight games. The Dodgers don't seem to think he'll need a disabled list stint. Gordon hasn't hit much lately, but he still leads the majors in stolen bases with 36. Chone Figgins is starting at second base Monday in Cincinnati.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Sunday that he's "fairly confident" Dee Gordon's (hip) injury is "nothing long term."

Gordon had to exit Saturday's game with right hip discomfort, but he could be available off the bench Sunday and should return to the lineup before long. The speedy second baseman is hitting only .212/.284/.333 over his last 17 games.

Dee Gordon had a huge day Friday night against the Rockies, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, two runs scored, a stolen base, and a walk.

Gordon had an RBI triple in the fifth inning and drove in another run with a single in the sixth. The speedy second baseman has come back down to Earth with the bat over the past month, but perhaps a trip to Coors Field will get him back on track offensively. By the way, he's now up to 36 stolen bases on the year.

Gordon has begun to scuffle a bit, so he entered Friday's action with just one stolen base over his last nine games. He's now up to 28 stolen bases on the season. That's more than 15 teams in MLB. The speedy second baseman has been a gift to fantasy owners in the early going.

The incredible start goes on for Gordon, who is batting .336/.369/.443 with 24 steals in 35 games. He's on pace for 102 stolen bases. Some regression should be expected with the bat, but his speed has always been legit.

Dee Gordon went 2-for-5 with a triple and scored two runs as the Dodgers defeated the Nationals on Tuesday.

Gordon notched his 13th multi-hit game out of 31 total. He tripled in the seventh inning with two outs and scored on left fielder Scott Hairston's fielding error, putting the Dodgers up 4-0 at the time. Gordon was not expected to be anywhere near as productive has he has been thus far, as evidenced by his .344/.376/.456 slash line and his league-leading 19 stolen bases. He has been a very welcome surprise contributor to the Dodgers.
