It wasn't Teheran's best start, as he allowed two home runs among the Cubs' seven hits, but it was good enough for his ninth win. Even with the mediocre start, it was a fantastic first half for the right-hander. Teheran owns a 2.71 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 116/30 K/BB ratio over 136 1/3 innings. He'll go to his first All-Star Game on Tuesday as a result of his strong season thus far.

Julio Teheran improved to 8-5, allowing one run over seven innings as the Braves defeated the Mets 3-1 on Wednesday.

Teheran is sliding into the NL Cy Young discussion just past the midpoint of the baseball season. The right-hander limited the Mets to four hits and three walks while striking out five, lowering his ERA to 2.29 in the process. He also carries an impressive 0.95 WHIP and a 108/26 K/BB ratio. Teheran will face the Mets again in his next start when the Braves will be in Queens, New York.

Julio Teheran improved to 7-5, allowing two runs (one earned) over seven innings as the Braves defeated the Phillies 4-2 on Friday.

Teheran's fantastic season continues, as the right-hander limited the Phillies to six hits while striking out nine without issuing a free pass. It was his fifth walk-less start of the season, and he now carries a 2.34 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, and a 103/23 K/BB ratio. He'll go up against the Mets at home in his next start.

Teheran struck out 10 batters, but the Nationals plated runs in the third, sixth, and seventh innings and Altanta's offense provided zero run support. Teheran will take a 6-5 record, 2.41 ERA, and 0.96 WHIP into his next start on the road against the Phillies.

Teheran bounced back nicely after a rare drubbing by the Rockies in Coors Field last week. It's the 12th time in 15 starts this year that he's allowed two earned runs or fewer.

Julio Teheran yielded two runs over 7 1/3 innings in Friday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.

Teheran entered Friday's outing with a 17-inning scoreless streak over his last two starts, but that came to an end with a long two-run homer from Giancarlo Stanton in the first inning. However, he held the Marlins off the board the rest of the way. Teheran struck out five batters and walked on in the victory and now owns a stingy 1.83 ERA through 12 starts. Only Chicago's Jeff Samardzija has a lower ERA.

Julio Teheran struck out seven over six scoreless innings in a win over the Rockies on Sunday.

Teheran tossed a six-hit shutout his last time out, making Sunday's start merely good by his standards. He surrendered just four hits and a walk in the outing. Teheran is locked in this year, as he's now 4-3 with a 1.77 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 11 starts. He'll see the Marlins in Miami on Friday.

Julio Teheran spun a complete-game shutout, giving up just six hits and two walks, in the Braves' 5-0 win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Teheran allowed just two extra-base hits, both Jonathan Lucroy doubles, while striking out eight in the victory. He entered the ninth inning at 109 pitches, and Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez showed confidence in the right-hander in letting him finish what he started. After allowing two singles in the ninth, Teheran dug deep to get Rickie Weeks and Carlos Gomez swinging to end the game. He finished at 128 pitches thrown. It was his first shutout of 2014, but Teheran has been absolutely brilliant all season -- the win lowered his ERA to 1.92 and WHIP to 0.95 in 10 starts. He'll look to keep the potent Rockies offense at bay on Sunday.
