Teheran took the loss Monday, allowing five runstwo earnedin 6.2 innings against the Phillies.

Teheran really got no help from his teammates, as the Braves surrendered three unearned runs and couldn't muster a single hit on the offensive side. The 23 year old will hope for some more help on both sides of the ball when he faces the Marlins this weekend.

Teheran was never really challenged, allowing three singles and a double, while not walking a batter. The young righty hasn't been as dominant as he was earlier in the season, as he had posted a 4.97 ERA over his previous eight starts, a span of 50.2 innings. Even so, he's still a productive starter on a contending team, and should be started with confidence in most cases. He'll toe the rubber against the Mets in his next start.

Teheran gave up six earned runs on nine hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings Wednesday against the Mariners.

Since the start of July, Teheran has a 4.47 ERA in seven starts, while averaging almost a strikeout per inning. He is a better pitcher than he's shown lately, but it's safe to say he's not the guy who had a 1.89 ERA on June 6, and his peripherals have finally caught up to him. A top-20 starting pitcher he may be, but he's not in that class of elite aces.
