Trumbo will play right field in 2015, GM Dave Stewart said Friday, Jack Magruder of FOXSportsArizona.com reports.

The 28-year-old didn't make a single appearance in right field in 2014, and instead split time between first base and left field, but he will be the everyday guy in right to begin next season. Ender Inciarte and David Peralta will share time in left. A foot injury cost Trumbo a significant portion of time in his first season in Arizona, and he hit just .235/.293/.415 in 88 games, but the power is still there and the RBI production should be as well.

Trumbo (back) will bat fifth and play first base Friday.

He was held out of Thursday's lineup with a back issue, but it appears to be just a one-game absence, and he should see plenty of at-bats down the stretch.

Trumbo was held out of the lineup Thursday due to a back issue, AZCentral.com reports.

Trumbo's availability for Friday's game against the Rockies is uncertain, after he left Wednesday's contest with back spasms. However, manager Kirk Gibson downplayed the severity of the issue, saying Trumbo "probably needed a day off anyway." Look for Jordan Pacheco to get the nod at first base if Trumbo is unable to go.

Trumbo is out of the lineup Thursday against the Rockies.

After striking out in all four of his at-bats Wednesday against the Giants, Trumbo will head to the bench for the day. His first season in Arizona has been largely a waste due to injury and diminished power production. Trumbo has mustered a .684 OPS over 79 games, over 70 points below his mark from 2013.

Trumbo went 2-for-4 with a walk, pair of RBI and stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning loss at Miami.

Trumbo had his eight-game hitting streak come to an end in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, but he's been strong at the plate recently, hitting well over .300 with 11 RBI since August 1. He should continue to see plenty of RBI chances, hitting cleanup for Arizona.
