Castillo is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Giants, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Castillo will sit in favor of John Baker after catching five of the team's previous six games. Although Castillo is batting just .236/.303/.382 this season, he's still the primary option for the Cubs and is thus somewhat relevant in deeper two-catcher leagues.

Castillo hit his eighth home run of the year � a solo shot � in the sixth inning, and then drew a bases loaded walk in the seventh to bring in another run. His two walks on Tuesday now give him six over his last three games after having just drawn 16 in his 245 prior at-bats. The 27-year-old catcher is still only hitting .236/.301/.386 in 254 at-bats, which is a far cry from the .274/.349/.397 he hit last year.

Castillo's double off Blaine Boyer capped a three-run seventh inning that helped put the game out of reach. The catcher now has three multi-hit games in his last four starts dating back to before the All-Star break, raising his season line to .241/.294/.391 in the process. He'll likely get the lion's share of starts behind the dish down the stretch, but he's nothing more than an NL-only option this season.

Castillo had an RBI double in the fifth inning, and he tacked on another with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The runs batted in were Castillo's first since returning from the disabled list on Sunday. With his rib cage injury behind him, Castillo should resume his position as the Cubs' everyday catcher going forward.
