Mitch Moreland (hamstring) went through some running drills at 60 percent on Monday without any issues.

Moreland obviously still has a ways to go, but he thinks there's a good chance he'll be ready for activation on June 21, the first day he's eligible. "I'm feeling really good," Moreland said. "If it progresses like it is, I should be ready to go at 15 days. We've got a pretty good plan together . right now it feels good."

Mitch Moreland will wait 5-6 days before testing his right hamstring.

Moreland was placed on the disabled list Thursday with a right hamstring strain. Rangers manager Ron Washington is hopeful that he'll be back as soon as he's eligible, but it all depends on how he responds to increased activity. Chris McGuiness is expected to get the majority of starts at first base during his absence while Jeff Baker and Lance Berkman could see at-bats there against southpaws.

Mitch Moreland homered in the fourth and 10th innings Tuesday to propel the Rangers past the A's 6-5.

Moreland's second homer proved to be much-needed insurance after Adrian Beltre broke a 4-4 tie with his solo shot in the top of the 10th. The A's rallied in the bottom of the inning, but Joe Nathan stranded the tying run on third. Moreland has three homers in two days, six homers in May and nine homers on the season, putting him more than halfway to his career high. We still view him as a fringe player in mixed leagues, and while he's hot now, he could get cooled off quickly by the Tigers pitching staff this weekend.

Mitch Moreland went 3-for-4 with two runs scored Friday against the Red Sox.

Moreland was hitting .157 back on April 20, but he has has hit .400 (18-for-45) over his last 12 games to pull his batting average up to .271 for the season. We'd like to see some more pop, but he could be a decent pickup as CI (corner infielder) in deeper mixed leagues.
