Josh Tomlin RP CLE 8 Months
Josh Tomlin (elbow) was cleared for his first rehab start Friday with the Arizona Rookie League Indians.
He only pitched one inning, but gave up just one hit and didn't allow any runs. It was his first game action since undergoing Tommy John surgery last season. If he can avoid setbacks, Tomlin should rejoin the Indians in mid-August.

Josh Tomlin (Tommy John surgery) could return near the end of the season.
Tomlin went under the knife last August. At this point in his rehab, it's hard to predict if a 2013 return is in the cards. Tomlin has said he'd rather be 100 percent for 2014 rather than making a premature late-season return this year. The right-hander posted a 6.36 ERA in 16 starts and five relief appearances with the Indians last season.

Josh Tomlin will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery.
It concludes what has been a miserable season for the right-hander, as Tomlin put up a 6.36 ERA over 101 1/3 innings before being placed on the disabled list earlier this month. Tomlin will likely be sidelined for most of the 2013 season, as well.

Josh Tomlin (elbow) will meet with Dr. Lewis Yocum in LA on Tuesday to get a second opinion on his injured right elbow.
Tomlin was brutal before being placed on the DL on Tuesday, posting a 5-8 record and 6.36 ERA over 101 1/3 innings, and perhaps the elbow soreness contributed to the poor performance. In all likelihood, he'll be shut down for the remainder of the season, but isn't a reliable fantasy option anyways.

Josh Tomlin is scheduled for an arm examination with specialist Dr. Lewis Yocum while the Indians are in California.
Tomlin has suffered from elbow soreness all year, perhaps explaining his horrific stats (5-8 with a 6.36 ERA over 101 1/3 innings). His peripheral stats are much better than those surface-level outputs, so one would assume Tomlin is hurting. Even in the bullpen, Cleveland can't afford to stomach Tomlin's performance much longer. Resolution appears to be coming.
