Angels placed LHP Sean Burnett on the 15-day disabled list with left forearm irritation.

Burnett has been dealing with the issue for about a week and tried to pitch through it but to no avail. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Tommy Hanson was reinstated from bereavement list in a corresponding move.

Sean Burnett (forearm) said he is "good to go" out of the bullpen Thursday.

Burnett has been sidelined for the last four days because of forearm tightness, but he's feeling much better. The lefty has allowed just one run over his first eight innings for the Angels this season.

Sean Burnett (forearm) could be available out of the bullpen Wednesday.

A report on Tuesday suggested that it would be at least Thursday until he could pitch, but Burnett's left forearm is feeling much better. He's allowed just one run over his first eight innings for the Halos this season.

Sean Burnett won't be available until at least Thursday due to some soreness in his forearm.

It's obviously not ideal, but it sounds like a minor concern at this point. Burnett has pitched well early on, allowing just one run over his first eight innings. Nick Maronde has been called up to provide some help from the left side in the bullpen.

Sean Burnett tossed a scoreless inning on Saturday afternoon in the Angels' 13-13 tie with the A's.

Burnett gave up two runs on four hits and only got one out in his Cactus League debut on Wednesday, so Saturday's outing was a sign of great progress. Burnett seems to be over the back injury that plagued him throughout late February early March. He'll serve in a setup role this season.

Sean Burnett surrendered two runs on four hits over just 1/3 of an inning in his Cactus League debut Wednesday.

It's obviously not an ideal way to start things out, but the important thing is that Burnett feels fine physically. The left-hander may vulture some saves early in the season while Ryan Madson makes his way back from elbow surgery.

Sean Burnett (back) will make his Cactus League debut Wednesday.

Burnett was bothered by some lower back stiffness, but he's past it now. As a reliever, it shouldn't take much work for him to get ready for the season.
