Josh Donaldson went 4-for-5 with a paid of doubles against the Rangers on Tuesday.

Donaldson and teammate Jed Lowrie are among the players tied for third in the AL with 14 doubles. Donaldson probably can't hit .314 all season long, but with his improved approach at the plate, he seems like a legitimate middle-of-the-order guy for Oakland.

Josh Donaldson's solo shot in the eighth inning lifted the Athletics to a victory over the Yankees Sunday.

Boone Logan left a ball up over the plate, and Donaldson ripped a no-doubter into the second deck in left field at Yankee Stadium. It was one of three longballs on the day for the A's, as Yoenis Cespedes and Luke Montz also went deep. Donaldson has given Oakland great production in the early going, batting .302 with three homers and 22 RBI.

Donaldson did his part, doubling twice, but the A's were out-pitched and out-hit. The 27-year-old third baseman now boasts a .318/.384/.511 slash line in 24 games and could keep climbing up the A's batting order.
