Matt Dominguez homered twice but the Astros fell to the Rangers on Saturday night in Houston.

It was a rare offensive outburst from the 23-year-old third baseman, who entered the game with only five home runs in 290 career major league plate appearances. Known mostly for his glove, he's not a good fantasy option.

Matt Dominguez collected three RBI on Thursday, but he also committed three errors in the loss to the Angels.

Dominguez had just one error in 31 games before his disastrous night in the field tonight. He did his best to make up for it with the bat, but given that he's just not much of a hitter -- he's batting .265 with no homers and five walks in 118 at-bats -- he can't afford to struggle with the glove.

Matt Dominguez went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts against the Tigers on Thursday.

Dominguez's average has dipped to .238, and he still doesn't have a homer in 101 at-bats this season. Last year, he kind of shocked everyone by hitting five long balls in 109 at-bats after joining the Astros. Dominguez is an excellent defender at third base, but he's going to have to show some power to stick as a long-term regular.

Matt Dominguez (elbow) went 2-for-4 with a double in his return to action Tuesday.

Dominguez sat out Monday's game after he was hit in the elbow with a pitch on Sunday, but it shouldn't be an issue moving forward. The 23-year-old is hitting .246 (16-for-65) with four doubles and five RBI in 18 games this season.

Matt Dominguez (elbow) is out of Monday's lineup against the Mariners.

Dominguez is sitting this one out after he left Sunday's game when he was hit in the elbow with a pitch. He'll go for precautionary X-rays, but could return as soon as Tuesday. Consider him day-to-day.

Matt Dominguez homered, doubled and walked Tuesday against the Rays.

Dominguez is penciled in as the Astros' everyday third baseman after a surprisingly successful finish last year. He has little fantasy upside, especially since he'll be hitting low in one of baseball's worst lineups, but he has enough pop to produce $4-$6 worth of value in AL-only leagues.
