Desmond Jennings went 2-for-3 with a two-run double in the Rays' win over the Indians on Wednesday.

Delmon Young hit a solo home run to open the scoring, but it was Jennings' double off Indians starter Danny Salazar that really gave the Rays a hold on the game. Jennings later singled before being replaced by pinch-runner Sam Fuld. He was the only Rays batter with multiple hits in the game.

Rays manager Joe Maddon said that Desmond Jennings (hamstring) came out of Monday's tiebreaker game fine and will be on the team's Wild Card game roster.

Jennings went 1-for-3 with a walk and got thrown out by plenty in the first inning when he tried to stretch a single to a double. He was removed late in the game for defensive purposes. "Desmond is doing really well," Maddon said on Tuesday. "You saw him play last night. The first ball down the line, I don't even know if under normal circumstances it would've been closer, but Gentry made a nice play on it. Overall, I'd say he's about 85 percent. He swung the bat really well last night so he should be fine for tomorrow night."

Desmond Jennings admitted that he's playing in Monday's tiebreaker even though his left hamstring isn't 100 percent.

"It feels good enough for me to play," Jennings said. "I'm not going to limit myself." The outfielder is certainly at risk of making the injury worse, but he's willing to gamble in Game 163. It's Jennings' first start in over a week.

Desmond Jennings is working out in center field Monday to see how his hamstring responds.

Jennings had been limited to light running previously, but he's going to attempt to ramp things up. Still, the expectation is that he'll only be able in a pinch-hitting capacity for Monday's tiebreaker game against the Rangers.

Desmond Jennings (hamstring) will only be able to pinch-hit in Monday's tiebreaker with the Rangers.

Jennings suffered a strained left hamstring over a week ago and still can't run enough to play the field. It's a frustrating situation for the Rays, though they have a solid backup center fielder in David DeJesus. Jennings should be feeling better by Wednesday's American League Wild Card Game if the Rays are able to advance.
