Desmond Jennings smacked a two-run homer Friday against the Rockies.

It was his fourth home run of the year, which puts him on pace to top the 13 homers he had during his first full season in the majors last year. While the 26-year-old outfielder is hitting just .219 with 30 strikeouts through 28 games, he's currently among the league leaders with 22 runs scored.

Desmond Jennings went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI on Thursday in an extra-inning loss to the Orioles.

Jennings smacked a solo homer to lead off the game and had a sacrifice fly in his next at-bat. This was his first three-hit game of the season and his first with more than one RBI. Like most of his teammates, the 26-year-old has struggled in the early going, but he has enough speed and pop to emerge as a top-20 fantasy outfielder in the near future.

Desmond Jennings went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a steal and two runs scored against the Orioles on Tuesday.

Jennings has seems more focused and less prone to chasing bad pitches since the beginning of the spring, and it could well make him one of the AL's most improved players this year. Expect a much better average than last year's .246 mark.

Desmond Jennings doubled twice and drove in two runs against the Yankees on Sunday.

For a guy hitting a modest .289 with no homers, Jennings has had a very encouraging spring. He's struck out just three times and walked nine times in 45 at-bats. He's 6-for-6 stealing bases. Since he's being counted on at the top of the order, the Rays will happily trade some power for singles and walks in Jennings' case.

Jennings rolled his left ankle during a game this past weekend. The outfielder told reporters after Monday night's game against the Twins that it "felt normal" again.
