Madison Bumgarner walked five but limited the damage to two runs over 5 2/3 innings in Monday's 4-2 victory over the Rockies.

One of the walks was intentional, but it was still a wild night for a guy that's displayed great control since arriving in the big leagues. However, he struck out five and the only extra-base hit he gave up was a solo blast to Carlos Gonzalez. Bumgarner will carry a nifty 1.32 ERA and 0.88 WHIP into Wrigley Field this weekend.

Madison Bumgarner pitched eight scoreless innings and combined with Sergio Romo on a two-hitter in the Giants' 3-0 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Bumgarner made it look easy tonight, throwing 76 of his 101 pitches for strikes. He walked none and struck out six. Of course, it didn't hurt that the Dodgers lineup featured Jerry Hairston Jr. leading off, Luis Cruz batting fifth and Justin Sellers in the eighth spot. Giants starters have thrown 14 scoreless innings so far. We wonder how long Tim Lincecum will keep that streak going on Wednesday.

Madison Bumgarner pitched five strong innings Saturday, allowing just one run in the Giants loss to the Reds.

The southpaw allowed just two hits in his five innings, lowering his spring ERA to 1.84 in the process. It's hard to remember Bumgarner is still only 23. He's continued to improve in each of his three seasons with the Giants and his best days may still be ahead of him, a scary proposition for opponents.

Madison Bumgarner blanked the Rangers over four innings Monday.

Bumgarner hasn't been all that efficient this spring, so it was nice to see him locked in on Monday, as he limited the Rangers to just one hit and one walk. He struck out four. The 23-year-old southpaw is a top-20 starter in mixed fantasy leagues and could get even better if he can maintain his velocity for an entire season.

Madison Bumgarner allowed one run over two frames in Tuesday's loss to the Indians.

The southpaw gave up three hits and a walk but recorded three punchouts. Bumgarner hasn't been terribly sharp so for this spring, sporting a 2.12 WHIP, but it's nothing to worry about. He'll be fine.

Madison Bumgarner wasn't quite as sharp in his second Cactus League start, allowing one run on three hits over 1 2/3 innings.

Bumgarner struck out two in the contest, but struggled with his command and also issued two walks. Despite a swoon over his final seven starts in 2012, Bumgarner still posted very impressive numbers across the board. At just 23-years-old, it's very possible that he takes that next step forward, becoming a truly elite fantasy option in 2013.

Madison Bumgarner hurled two scoreless innings Monday against the White Sox in his Cactus League debut.

Bumgarner yielded two hits and a walk, but he limited any real potential damage. The 23-year-old left-hander posted a fantastic 3.37 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 191/49 K/BB ratio across 208 1/3 innings last season for the World Series champs. He's already a legitimate fantasy ace.
