Buster Posey C/1B SF 3 Hrs

Posey was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in San Francisco's win over the Nationals on Friday night.

He seems to have eliminated any concerns over his hip injury, collecting six hits over his past two games. Posey has 15 home runs and 61 RBI with a rising .286 average as he continues his productive second half so the Giants will hope he can stay healthy down the stretch.

Posey (hip) reached base five times in Thursday's win over the Cubs, going 4-for-4 with two runs, a pair of doubles, and his 14th home run of the year.

So much for that injury he sustained to his hip Wednesday. Posey has turned it on the second half, posting a .310/.380/.483 slash line post-All-Star break after putting up a .275/.331/.422 before that point. He continues to be a top option at the catcher position in fantasy.

Posey (hip) is starting Thursday's contest at the Cubs, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Because the outing is a continuation of Tuesday's suspended game, Posey is in an unusual place (ninth) in the lineup, while covering his typical spot at catcher. With four innings remaining, his hip has been deemed sound enough to handle the rigors of the crouch.

Posey (hip) said his sore hip is feeling "good" and he'll be able to resume Tuesday's suspended game against the Cubs, CSN Bay Area reports.

Posey sat out Wednesday's contest with hip discomfort, but he's apparently feeling well enough to take the field for the final four innings of Tuesday's suspended game. It remains unknown whether he'll play in the teams' matchup later Thursday.

Posey is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Cubs.

Be at first base or behind the plate, Posey has started 30 of the Giants' last 31 games, but he'll get a well-deserved day of rest Wednesday. Andrew Susac will catch starter Jake Peavy as Mike Morse mans first, but look for Posey to be available off the bench and back in the lineup Thursday.

Posey went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the White Sox.

Posey entered the game hitting just .179 (5-for-28) in his last eight contests, so Wednesday's game may be a sign that he is breaking out of his mini-slump. While he hasn't gone on a prolonged hot streak at any point this season, his overall production in 2014 has been solid (.283/.345/.433).

Posey is out of the Giants' lineup Tuesday against the Brewers, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Posey took a ball off his facemask during Monday's game against the Mets, but this is reportedly nothing more than a planned day off. Andrew Susac will step in to catch starter Tim Lincecum, but Hector Sanchez (concussion) appears on track to return to the backup role later this week.

Buster Posey went 3-for-4 Tuesday in a 3-1 setback against the Pirates.

Posey came into tonight in a 3-for-17 slump, so it was nice to see the big game, though it came without an extra-base hit, run scored or RBI. It was that kind of night for the offense, and it's been that kind of week for the Giants, who are free-falling. San Francisco has been outscored 27-6 during its current six-game losing streak.
