Gordon Beckham 2B CWS 4 Days

Gordon Beckham went 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts Friday in his first start of the season out of the leadoff spot.

Beckham is now hitting .305 (11-for-36) with two doubles, one RBI and five runs scored in 10 games since coming off the disabled list. We don't expect the batting average to last, but he should do enough in counting stats to be a decent middle infielder option in deeper mixed leagues. Look for him to slide back down near the bottom of the order when Alejandro De Aza (illness) is ready to return to action.

White Sox activated 2B Gordon Beckham from the 15-day disabled list.

Gordon Beckham (hand) could be activated from the disabled list sooner than Thursday.

Thursday had been the target day, but evidently Beckham is coming around quicker than expected. The infielder is batting .333/.368/.389 over eight rehab games with Triple-A Charlote and has had no issues with his surgically-repaired left hand.

Gordon Beckham (hand) is likely to be activated from the disabled list on June 6.

Beckham has already played six rehab games for Triple-A Charlotte, but the White Sox want to take it slowly with him since he's had some soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand. The Palehose are on the road now but should get Beckham back for the start of their next homestand.

Gordon Beckham (hand) will resume his rehab assignment Thursday with Triple-A Charlotte.

Beckham has been shut down since last Friday due to ongoing soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand. Assuming he avoids setbacks, he should rejoin the White Sox for their upcoming homestand with Oakland next week.

Gordon Beckham (hand) is scheduled to resume his minor league rehab assignment Friday.

Beckham hasn't played since last Thursday due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand. As long as there are no other setbacks, he should rejoin the White Sox during their next homestand in early June.

Gordon Beckham isn't playing Friday with Triple-A Charlotte due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand.

Beckham had surgery in mid-April to remove the hamate bone from his hand, so the White Sox don't want to take any chances. It isn't a major setback, but the White Sox could also have him sit out Saturday just to be on the safe side.

Gordon Beckham (hand) started at shortstop Monday in his third rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.

Beckham played shortstop in college and as a prospect, but he has never done so in the majors. Of course, Alexei Ramirez is in the second year of a four-year, $32.5 million contract, so there would have to be an injury or a trade for him to get a look there with the big club. Still, it's an interesting development. Beckham is hitting .462 (6-for-13) with one double and two RBI over three rehab games and should be activated this weekend.

Gordon Beckham (hand) tallied three hits Sunday in his second rehab game with Triple-A Charlotte.

Beckham went 2-for-4 on Saturday in his rehab debut and is looking ready to rejoin the White Sox. But since he's been out so long -- over five weeks -- the second baseman will likely remain on the farm until Friday.

Gordon Beckham (hand) could be activated from the disabled list for the White Sox' series against the Marlins next weekend.

Beckham, who had surgery last month to remove the hamate bone from his left hand, will begin a rehab assignment on Saturday. The White Sox have been using Jeff Keppinger at second base and will welcome the defensive upgrade with Beckham.
