Astros signed C Jason Jaramillo to a minor league contract.
Jaramillo failed to appear in the majors last season and batted just .221/.302/.289 in 75 games at Triple-A Nashville. He'll serve as an emergency catcher with the Astros behind Juan Castro, Carlos Corporan, and Chris Stewart.

Brewers signed C Jason Jaramillo to a minor league contract.
Jaramillo was released by the Cubs earlier this week. The 29-year-old backstop has a .235/.293/.327 batting line over 366 plate appearances in the big leagues and will presumably serve as depth at the Triple-A level.

Cubs signed C Jason Jaramillo to a minor league contract.
Jaramillo was non-tendered by the Pirates earlier this offseason. His deal with the Cubs includes an invitation to spring training, where the 29-year-old will get a shot at securing the backup job behind Geovany Soto.

Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors reports that the Cubs are nearing a minor league deal with Jason Jaramillo.
The Pirates non-tendered Jaramillo earlier this month. He hit .326 (14-for-43) in the majors in 2011 and will act as organizational catching depth next year for Chicago.

The move was made to open up a spot for Erik Bedard on the team's 40-man roster. Jaramillo, 29, batted .326 (14-for-43) in 23 games with the Pirates this season. He could draw some interest elsewhere, which would put the newly-signed Jose Morales in a strong position to make the Opening Day roster.

Jason Jaramillo has been on the minor league disabled list since late May with a right elbow injury.
Jaramillo began a throwing program this weekend and should be ready to resume playing in games for Triple-A Indianapolis by the end of July. The 28-year-old will function as organizational depth at catcher once he returns to full health. He spent the first two weeks of the season in the majors but hasn't been back since.
