Jordan Zimmermann (biceps) will throw a bullpens session on Friday or Saturday.

Assuming he gets through it with no issues, Zimmermann will avoid the disabled list and be cleared to rejoin the Nationals' rotation next week. The right-hander had to leave his last outing prior to the All-Star break with a strained biceps, but obviously the ailment is considered minor. He's up up a 3.03 ERA and 1.21 WHIP this season.

Zimmermann had no structural damage. He left Friday's game with a right bicep cramp. The Nationals hope that he'll be able to avoid the disabled list all together.

Jordan Zimmermann was removed from Friday's start against the Phillies with an apparent injury.

No word yet on the type or extent of the injury, but it's certainly worrisome that Zimmermann called for the trainer after delivering his last pitch. He had surrendered four runs on six hits over 3 1/3 innings before departing. Look for the Nationals to provide an update on his status shortly.

Jordan Zimmermann held the Cubs scoreless over six innings but settled for a no-decision on Sunday.

Zimmermann scattered seven hits and a walk over six scoreless innings, striking out five. His bullpen deprived him of his seventh win, but it still continued a string of strong starts for the right-hander. He's having another good season for the Nats, as he owns a 2.79 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 96/20 K/BB ratio over 109 2/3 innings. He'll face the Phillies in Philadelphia on Friday.

Jordan Zimmermann pitched six innings of two-run ball Monday as the Nationals beat the Rockies 7-3.

Zimmermann had a pretty easy night of hit in his sixth straight quality start, throwing just 87 pitches before getting removed for a pinch-hitter. He finishes June 3-2 with a 1.43 ERA and just one homer allowed in 44 innings. His two losses came in starts in which the Nationals were shut out.

Jordan Zimmermann struck out nine Brewers while allowing two runs over six innings in a no-decision on Tuesday.

Zimmermann really only made one mistake all night, a pitch that Ryan Braun hit for a two-run single. Otherwise, Zimmermann scattered six hits and two walks over his six innings. Zimmermann has been terrific in the month of June, posting a 1.25 ERA and 0.78 WHIP in five starts this month. In total, the right-hander has a 2.95 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86/18 K/BB ratio over 97 2/3 innings. He'll look to continue that June dominance when he takes on the Cubs in Wrigley on Sunday.

Jordan Zimmermann pitched well but took the loss, allowing two runs over seven innings on Thursday as the Nationals were defeated 3-0 by the Braves.

Zimmermann has been a new pitcher since the month of June began. Including Thursday's outing, he has a 0.84 ERA in four June starts. On this night, he allowed seven hits, walked one, and struck out six. Unfortunately for the Nationals, Gavin Floyd was nearly unhittable. Zimmermann will take a 2.95 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 77/16 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Brewers on the road.

Jordan Zimmermann tossed eight innings of one-run ball in a complete-game loss against the Cardinals on Friday.

He's the first Nationals pitcher to throw back-to-back complete games. Amazingly, Zimmerman needed just 76 pitches to finish his eight innings of work. However, a second-inning solo homer by Matt Adams was enough to put him in line for the loss. He struck out five and walked one and now owns a 2.98 ERA and 71/15 K/BB ratio in 84 2/3 innings over 14 starts this season. He'll look for better luck when he faces the Nationals next week.

Jordan Zimmermann struck out 12 Padres hitters in a two-hit, 6-0 shutout on Sunday.

It was Zimmermann's second straight scoreless outing, but Sunday's effort was on another level. The Padres didn't muster a hit until the sixth inning, and Zimmermann didn't walk a batter on the afternoon. He's now got a 5-2 record, 3.17 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 13 starts. The Cardinals are in Zimmermann's sights when the Nationals visit St. Louis on Friday.

Jordan Zimmermann picked up his fourth win of the season, holding the Phillies scoreless over eight innings on Tuesday.

Zimmermann had the good fortune of facing the slumping Phillies, who were able to squeak out only five hits against the right-hander in what turned out to be his best outing of the season, reaching the eighth inning for the first time. Zimmermann also issued only one walk while striking out four. Now with a 4-2 record and a 3.59 ERA, he will face the Padres on the road in his next outing.
