Jordan Zimmermann struck out nine Brewers while allowing two runs over six innings in a no-decision on Tuesday.

Zimmermann really only made one mistake all night, a pitch that Ryan Braun hit for a two-run single. Otherwise, Zimmermann scattered six hits and two walks over his six innings. In total, the right-hander has a 2.95 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86/18 K/BB ratio over 97 2/3 innings. He'll look to continue that June dominance when he takes on the Cubs in Wrigley on Sunday.

Jordan Zimmermann tossed eight innings of one-run ball in a complete-game loss against the Cardinals on Friday.

He's the first Nationals pitcher to throw back-to-back complete games. Amazingly, Zimmerman needed just 76 pitches to finish his eight innings of work. However, a second-inning solo homer by Matt Adams was enough to put him in line for the loss. He struck out five and walked one and now owns a 2.98 ERA and 71/15 K/BB ratio in 84 2/3 innings over 14 starts this season. He'll look for better luck when he faces the Nationals next week.

Zimmermann had the good fortune of facing the slumping Phillies, who were able to squeak out only five hits against the right-hander in what turned out to be his best outing of the season, reaching the eighth inning for the first time. Zimmermann also issued only one walk while striking out four. Now with a 4-2 record and a 3.59 ERA, he will face the Padres on the road in his next outing.

Jordan Zimmermann took the loss Friday after allowing four runs in six innings against the Pirates.

It was his second loss of the season and his first since April 19. Zimmerman yielded seven hits (including a two-run homer to Pedro Alvarez) and a pair of walks while fanning five batters. He now has a 3.95 ERA and 1.43 WHIP through 10 starts. Assuming he gets some better luck with BABIP (batting average on balls in play), look for both numbers to begin to come down to his career norms.

It was the first time Zimmermann got through the sixth inning in the month of May. The right-hander allowed eight hits, walked two, and struck out only one batter. Zimmermann, now with a 3.70 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP, will face the Pirates on the road in his next outing.

Jordan Zimmermann didn't have his good stuff on Monday, coughing up five runs on 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against Arizona.

The right-hander compensated by limiting unforced errors, walking none, but he couldn't always escape the dangerous situations he put himself in. We wouldn't put much stock into the off night, as Zimmerman hadn't allowed a run over his previous two outings. Now 2-1 with a 3.59 ERA, Zimmerman hosts the Mets on Sunday.
