Josh Willingham had a two-run homer, an RBI single and two walks Thursday versus the Rangers.

Willingham, who came off the DL on Monday, entered with one RBI in nine games this season. He's going to get as much playing as he can handle between left field and DH, which should leave less for Jason Kubel to do. It's possible he'll get hurt again, but the time DHing makes him a better bet to stay healthy than he was last year.

Twins activated OF Josh Willingham from the 15-day disabled list.

Willingham didn't show much on his minor league rehab assignment, hitting just .185/.241/.370 over eight contests at Triple-A Rochester, but the Twins desperately need his bat back in the lineup. He should be scooped up in any mixed leagues where he may be available.

During an appearance on MLB Network Radio on Sirus XM on Tuesday, Twins manager Ron Gardenhire estimated that Josh Willingham (wrist) is likely to be activated on the team's upcoming homestand.

Willingham is 2-for-12 with five strikeouts through four rehab games in Triple-A, but he hasn't reported any issues with his wrist. "He was out six weeks and my guess would be that he'll meet us when we get back home," said Gardnehire. "The hand is feeling good." The Twins return home next Monday for a four-game series against the Rangers.

Josh Willingham (wrist) could begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester this weekend.

Willingham took batting practice without any issues Tuesday and will take BP again Wednesday before hopefully being cleared for game action. He should need too many rehab appearances, so it's sounding like the outfielder could rejoin the Twins sometime next week.

Josh Willingham (wrist) will take batting practice on Sunday.

Willingham had to cut a batting practie session short last Tuesday after feeling renewed discomfort in his left wrist. However, he's been taking flips and hitting off a tee the last few days with no issues and is ready to give BP on the field another shot. He seems likely to require a rehab assignment before returning.
