Jered Weaver SP LAA 30 Days

Jered Weaver pitched seven innings of one-run ball Thursday in a victory over the Twins.

Weaver had given up 14 homers among his 85 hits allowed this season, but none of the eight hits he allowed today left the yard (Joe Mauer's might off, but Mike Trout got a glove on it and turned it into a double). He's given up two runs over 15 innings in his last two starts to bring his ERA back down to 3.33. Despite the homers, he's been better than the Angels should have anticipated.

Jered Weaver limited the Rangers to one run and four hits in eight innings in a no-decision Saturday.

Weaver exited with a one-run lead after 108 pitches, but Kevin Jepsen couldn't make it stand up. It was still one of Weaver's best outings of the season, and the first since May 11 in which he didn't give up a homer. He's 7-6 with a 3.47 ERA.

Jered Weaver gave up four runs in six innings Monday in a loss to the Indians.

Weaver gave up two homers in this one, running his streak to seven straight starts of giving up a long ball. After an outstanding month of May in which he went 4-1 with a 1.98 ERA, he's 1-3 with a 5.79 ERA in June. He'll return home for a start against the Rangers next time out, making him a better play in mixed leagues.

Jered Weaver was tagged for four runs on six hits and two walks in Wednesday's 7-1 loss opposite the Athletics.

The veteran right-hander was slogging through the outing without his good stuff until Stephen Vogt ended his night in the sixth inning with a two-run blast. Weaver struck out five and required 104 pitches to secure 16 outs. After falling to 7-5 with a 3.51 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, Weaver heads to Cleveland for a Tuesday night date against the Indians.

Jered Weaver fanned nine while allowing two runs over six innings Friday in a victory over the White Sox.

The White Sox had chances tonight -- they had 10 men on base during Weaver's six innings -- but they couldn't do anything more than score lone runs in the third and fifth innings. Weaver moved to 8-2 with a 1.70 ERA in 11 career starts versus the White Sox. He won't be as good of a play with the A's next on the schedule.

Jered Weaver was hit hard in Sunday's loss to the Athletics, surrendering five runs on 11 hits over his six innings.

Weaver walked one and struck out a pair on the afternoon. The A's jumped on him with a four-run uprising in the third inning, and Jed Lowrie tacked on a solo homer in the fifth frame to complete the damage. The veteran right-hander will look to improve upon his 3.33 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 57/23 K/BB ratio when he takes on the White Sox next weekend.

Jered Weaver posted his fifth consecutive quality start, giving up three runs in Tuesday's 6-4 victory over the Mariners.

The right-hander struck out five and walked one. Weaver has struck out at least five in six straight outings. This was the first time since Weaver's 0-2, 5.79 ERA start that he's given up three runs in an outing. The pleasant fantasy surprise is 6-3 with a 2.99 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. Weaver gets the A's on the road Sunday.

Jered Weaver yielded only two hits and one run in a complete game in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over the Astros.

Weaver whiffed five and walked only one. It's time to start wondering: Are our lying eyes deceiving us? Weaver appears to have diminished stuff, and nobody was surprised when that flatter-than-usual arsenal produced an 0-2 start with a 5.79 ERA through three starts. Since that time, he's turned in seven strong starts in a row. He's only coughed up three homers during that span -- including George Springer's solo long fly tonight -- which won't continue, but owners need to ride the wave as long as Weaver continues fooling big league hitters. Now 5-3 with a 2.85 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, Weaver has a road date in Seattle on Tuesday.

Jered Weaver pitched seven innings of two-run ball, allowing three hits, Friday against the Rays.

Diminished stuff or no, Weaver has turned in six strong starts in a row. It's mostly a result of him allowing just two homers during the span, which seems pretty fluky. Enjoy it while it lasts, but don't expect a lot of mixed-league value the rest of the way.

Weaver whiffed seven and walked only one. Through his first three outings, the veteran scuffled to an 0-2 start with a 5.79 ERA. Since then, he's been dynamite, allowing only five runs in four subsequent starts. The right-hander, now 3-2 with a 3.48 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, hopes to carry tonight's stuff through customs for a matchup in Toronto this weekend.
