Wang was released by the Royals on Thursday, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was designated for assignment on Sept. 17 and the two sides opted to part ways. Wang logged a 4.22 ERA and awful 30:18 K:BB in 53.1 innings out of the Royals' bullpen this season. He has not pitched since being placed on the DL with biceps tendinitis on Aug. 31.

Wang (biceps) was designated for assignment by the Royals on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Wang struggled for much of the season, posting a 4.22 ERA on the year before hitting the DL in late-August with a biceps injury. The Royals activated Jason Vargas from the disabled list Saturday, so the move to DFA Wang comes in response to the need for a spot on the 40-man roster.

Wang was placed on the DL with bicep tendinitis, Joel Goldberg of FoxSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wang has a lofty 4.22 ERA for the year, but had shown improvement in recent games. Over his last five outings, he allowed just two runs across 11 innings. However, his season-long troubles with walks continued, as he allowed four in that time. Brooks Pounders was recalled from Triple-A Omaha in a corresponding move.

Wang has allowed four runs over nine innings pitched in July.
EDGE Analysis
In his first season as a reliever, Wang has posted a 3.73 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. He has five wins, but is not heavily used in close games, earning no holds or saves this season.

Wang (3-0) surrendered two hits over two innings in Saturday's 8-7 victory over the White Sox. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
A victory was likely the last thing on the 36-year-old's mind when he entered the game to start the eighth, as the White Sox held a seeming secure 7-1 lead at the time. However, Wang was rewarded for his solid work with the victory after the Royals rallied with seven runs in the bottom of the ninth. It was only the third two-inning appearance of the season for Wang, who's now turned in five consecutive scoreless efforts.

Wang pitched a scoreless inning, striking out two and picked up the win in Tuesday's comeback victory over the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
After giving up earned runs in three consecutive appearances, Wang has settled down considerably, not allowing a hit in his past three. He needed just 12 pitches to get through the inning before the Royals bats woke up against Jonathan Papelbon to give Wang his first MLB win since June 16, 2013-some 1,052 days. The 36-year-old has done an admirable job working in the back-end of the Royals' bullpen.

Wang was added to the Royals' 40-man roster on Sunday, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Count the soon-to-be 36-year-old as one of the surprise inclusions on Opening Day rosters, as his days in the majors appeared to be over after he languished in the minors in two organizations a season ago, posting a 6.10 ERA over 62 innings at Triple-A Gwinnett and a 5.69 ERA over 68 innings at Triple-A Tacoma. However, the soft-tossing right-hander made the most of his non-roster invite to the Royals' spring training, producing a 2.40 ERA and 9:2 K:BB ratio over 15 innings. He'll likely serve as the long man out of the Royals' bullpen to open the season.

Wang agreed to a minor-league contract with the Mariners, the Tacoma News Tribune reports. Wang struggled for the Braves' Triple-A affiliate earlier this season, posting a 6.10 ERA in 11 games. He'll join the starting rotation at Triple-A Tacoma, but the Mariners will likely look elsewhere when the need for a spot starter arises.

Wang was released by the Braves on Friday, Kevin McAlpin of Braves Radio Network reports. Wang failed to make the Braves' rotation out of spring training, and his poor showing (6.10 ERA, 1.887 WHIP) over 62 innings in 11 games (10 starts) has led to his release from the club. The 35-year-old hurler will hope to latch on elsewhere, but his chances at pitching in the majors again remain minimal.

Wang will begin the season as a member of the Triple-A rotation, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Wang struggled a bit in spring training, and the late addition of Trevor Cahill to the rotation pretty much spelled the end to any hopes for the vet. He will provide the club with organizational depth in Triple-A, though it's unclear where he ranks among the options to replace a member of the rotation should an injury occur.
