Luis Valbuena 2B/3B CHC 24 Days's Peter Gammons reports that the Athletics and Giants are "sifting through" potential options at second base, including Luis Valbuena, Asdrubal Cabrera, Aaron Hill, Martin Prado and Gordon Beckham.

With Chase Utley not expected to be traded, the above group is the best of the lot for contenders looking to upgrade at second base. Of the five, only Hill and Beckham list second as their main position. However, all have plenty of experience at the keystone. The D'Backs appear much more willing to deal Hill than Prado.
