Justin Upton LF/RF ATL 28 Days

Upton went off for five RBI as part of a 2-for-4 night that featured his 24th home run of the season Tuesday against the Pirates.

The younger Upton is some kind of hot lately, as he's now driven in runs in nine of his last 12 games (16 RBI) while going 14-for-40 (.350) with five homers during than span, increasing his average to .287 on the year. At this rate, barring any unforeseen setbacks, he's going to easily tally the eight RBI required to surpass his career high of 88 set in 2011 with the Diamondbacks, and he may just flirt with breaking his home-run record of 31 set in the same year. Enjoy.

Upton went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a couple of runs scored in Sunday's 4-3 win over the A's.

Upton has been on an absolute tear at the plate in recent days, as he is now in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak. Over this stretch, the two-time All-Star has set the pace for the Braves' offense with a .360/.484/.800 slash line across 31 plate appearances. Just for good measure, Upton has also thrown in three homers, nine RBI and seven runs scored during the same span.

Upton (hamstring) is in the lineup for Friday's game against the A's.

Apparently, the hamstring strain Upton suffered Thursday night was very mild, as he is penciled in to occupy his usual spots -- left field and the cleanup spot in the order -- Friday against right-hander Jason Hammel. Upton saw Hammel plenty while he was in the NL, racking up seven hits, including two doubles and a homer, in 27 career at-bats against him.

Upton left Thursday's game against the Dodgers with a mild left hamstring strain.

Upton tagged up at second base and tried to get to third on a Chris Johnson flyout to right field in the eighth inning, but he slid awkwardly into the bag and strained his hamstring. The team has deemed the strain mild and lists Upton as day-to-day, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he missed at least one start as a result. Emilio Bonifacio seems like the top candidate to see time in left field in his absence.

Upton left Thursday's game against the Dodgers with an apparent injury, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

An awkward slide into third base in the eight inning left Upton ailing, and he was immediately lifted for a pinch runner. The team figures to elaborate on the nature and extent of the injury following the game.

Justin Upton (triceps) is in the Braves' starting lineup on Monday night versus the Marlins.

Upton made an early exit from Sunday's series finale against the Phillies with tightness in his triceps. It obviously wasn't a major issue for the slugger.
