Chad Billingsley has been diagnosed with a partially torn flexor tendon in his right elbow.

While it's an encouraging sign that an MRI revealed no damage to his surgically-repaired UCL in his right elbow, it's unclear what the next step will be for Billingsley to deal with the new ailment. At this point, it's unlikely that Billingsley will pitch for the Dodgers this season.

Billingsley experienced renewed discomfort in his surgically-repaired right elbow Wednesday while trying to let it loose in a bullpen session. The veteran gave up a run in 1 2/3 innings Sunday in his rehab debut at High-A Rancho Cucamonga. He probably shouldn't be counted on this season, or for future seasons.
