Albert Pujols went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Pujols is starting to heat up, bringing his average up to .250 with his effort Wednesday. The Angels' first baseman posted career lows across the board last season due to plantar fasciitis. The 34-year-old still has plenty left in the tank, though.

Albert Pujols went 1-for-2 with an RBI double against the Mariners on Tuesday.

The double was his first extra-base hit of the spring and he raised his batting average to .190. It's a good idea to take spring stats with a grain of salt, though, particularly this early. The Angels are satisfied he can play at first base after suffering from plantar fasciitis last season.

Albert Pujols went 1-for-3 and drove home his first run of the Cactus League season in Saturday's loss to a split-squad Diamondbacks team.

Pujols struck out in one of his other at-bats, and is hitting just .125 (2-for-16) to this point. The important thing is his health though, and he maintains that the planar fascitis that cut short his 2013 season is no longer an issue for him.

Albert Pujols went 1-for-2 with a walk in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Giants.

Pujols was 0-for-8 entering the afternoon, but singled in the seventh to grab his first hit in the Cactus League. Now 34 years old, Pujols wasn't quite himself last season thanks in part to plantar fasciitis. Manager Mike Scioscia may put Pujols back in the DH spot from time to time to give him a breather during the season.

The Angels plan to ease Albert Pujols into first base action when Cactus League games begin.

"He's not at that point," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "And we wouldn't do it anyway. If he felt great, there's no doubt about getting him in the flow in little bits." Scioscia also noted that once the regular season starts Pujols will play first "on a regular basis." Pujols has said he's completely healthy but the Angels aren't going to waste the 34-year-old's health on exhibition games. Pujols played in just 99 games last season due to a partial tear of his left plantar fascia, so the first baseman will be looking for a bounceback season in 2014.

Albert Pujols dropped seven pounds in the offseason and said Thursday that his knee and foot are 100 percent.

Pujols is hoping to return with a bang in 2014 after being limited to 99 games last summer due to a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot. The 34-year-old first baseman has batted just .275/.338/.485 through his first two seasons with the Angels. He was a .328/.420/.617 hitter in 11 seasons with the Cardinals.

Albert Pujols has enjoyed a normal offseason.

That's the word from Joel Sherman of the New York Post, who adds that Albert has been hitting baseballs since October. Pujols was limited to 99 games in 2013 due to a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot and finished the season with a career-worst .767 OPS. He's aiming to turn things around in a big way in 2014. The Angels still owe the 34-year-old slugger a guaranteed $222 million.

Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto said Monday that Albert Pujols' left foot was deemed 100 percent by doctors last week.

Pujols struggled through 99 games this past season due to a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot, but it's not expected to be an issue for him come spring training. We've likely seen the best of him already, but he could be a nice value in fantasy drafts in 2014. He turns 34 in January.

Albert Pujols said this week that his rehab is going "really good" and declared his injured left foot to be "99.9 percent healthy".

The 33-year-old slugger slashed .258/.330/.437 with 17 homers and 64 RBI in 2013, but was limited to just 99 games after he suffered a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his left foot. Pujols also noted that he is continuing rehab on his surgically repaired right knee and expects to be fully healthy heading into spring training. While he may never get back to his elite status, the injury concerns could actually lead to Pujols being undervalued in next spring's fantasy drafts.

Albert Pujols (foot) is scheduled to begin taking live batting practice on Wednesday.

Pujols is expected to have a clean bill of health heading into the start of spring training next February. The 33-year-old appeared in just 99 games in 2013 and posted a career-worst .258/.330/.437 slash line.
