LeBlanc agreed to a one-year deal with the Pirates on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

There were talks that the big left-hander would be non-tendered by the Pirates, but the sides came to an agreement likely due to LeBlanc taking less money than he was projected to make in an arbitration case. LeBlanc was a solid bullpen arm for Pittsburgh last season after coming to the National League in September, although his numbers could see a downturn if his home run woes he had during his tenure with the Mariners (2.5 HR/9) follow him into the 2017 campaign.

LeBlanc earned his first save with three scoreless innings in Saturday's 10-4 victory over the Reds. He gave up a hit and struck out two.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran southpaw has taken to Pittsburgh well after being dealt from the Mariners on Sept. 13, now having hurled five scoreless frames of three-hit ball over two outings. LeBlanc has five whiffs over that span as well and looks poised to serve as a valuable innings-eating lefty arm out of the bullpen for the balance of the campaign.

LeBlanc was traded to the Pirates on Tuesday in exchange for a player to be named later, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

LeBlanc was DFA'd last month before clearing waivers and landing at Triple-A Tacoma. The 32-year-old made 11 appearances (eight starts) for Seattle, amassing a 4.50 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 50 innings. Rather than making a move to add Leblanc to the 40-man roster, Seattle will send him to Pittsburgh, where he figures to add depth to the bullpen over the final few weeks of the season.

LeBlanc is expected to rejoin the Mariners on Tuesday, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

LeBlanc cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week, so the Mariners outrighted him to Triple-A Tacoma for the time being. The team will have to remove a player from the 40-man roster in order to add LeBlanc back onto it, and it's not yet clear who that player will be.

LeBlanc was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

The return of Taijuan Walker from Triple-A cost LeBlanc his spot in the Mariners' rotation, and the return of James Paxton from the disabled list will cost him his spot on the roster. LeBlanc held his own with the Mariners, posting a 4.50 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 41:9 K:BB over 11 appearances, so he could garner some interest on the waiver wire.

LeBlanc (3-0) surrendered three runs (three home runs) on six hits while walking three and striking out four over 5.1 innings in Friday's 7-6 win over the Brewers.

EDGE Analysis

With a three-run lead after five innings, it appeared LeBlanc was poised for his third win of the season, but the 32-year-old made things interesting when he gave up back-to-back homers to start the sixth. Though LeBlanc has yet to allow more than four earned runs in any of his eight starts this season, his 2.64 HR/9 and 6.02 FIP is concerning. The left-hander will get another home start on Wednesday against the Yankees.

LeBlanc earned his second win of the season Sunday versus the Athletics, allowing three runs with seven strikeouts compared to just one walk across six strong innings.

EDGE Analysis

LeBlanc was sharp Sunday and prevented Oakland from stringing baserunners together, but he did allow a solo home run in the second inning and a two-run shot in the sixth to account for the damage against him. LeBlanc has been no world-beater this season, as he has a 4.68 ERA through eight appearances, but he has only allowed more than three runs twice in any outing and has delivered five quality starts. He will next take the hill Friday versus the Brewers.

LeBlanc gave up four runs on 10 hits with three walks and two strikeouts over five innings Tuesday against the Tigers, but was spared the loss thanks to some late-inning offensive heroics by the Mariners.

EDGE Analysis

This was a disappointing performance by every metric, as LeBlanc failed to take advantage of his return to the rotation. The veteran lefty allowed two more homers in this one, bringing his season total to nine in just 36.1 innings. With a subpar 6.19 K/9 to go along with a 4.71 ERA, LeBlanc offers very little upside should he get another turn on the road against the Angles on Monday.

Manager Scott Servais said that the team is "leaning toward" starting LeBlanc against the Tigers on Tuesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

The M's are still listing Tuesday's starter as "TBA," as they want to wait and see if LeBlanc is needed out of the bullpen over the next two days before making anything official. LeBlanc has been serviceable in six appearances (five starts) with the big club this year, posting a 4.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB, but he's struggled with the long ball. The lefty has served up seven homers in 31.1 innings. Ariel Miranda would be the logical alternative if LeBlanc doesn't end up getting the nod.

LeBlanc was credited with his first save despite giving up three earned runs on four hits over three innings in Saturday's 14-5 victory over the Blue Jays. He struck out two.

EDGE Analysis

The veteran lefty endured a rough eighth inning, giving up a 401-foot solo homer to Michael Saunders and two-run shot to Justin Smoak two batters later. LeBlanc has had some trouble with the long ball in July, giving up six homers over the 19.1 innings spanning three starts and Saturday's relief appearance. The 31-year-old figures to remain in a relief role until the Mariners need a fifth starter again on Aug. 2.
