Trevor Bauer SP CLE 5 days ago

Bauer gave up one earned run on four hits and three walks with seven strikeouts over 7.1 innings Tuesday against the White Sox.

Bauer, who has owned the White Sox this season, came out firing, retiring the first 11 batters he faced. The righty improved to 2-0 against the White Sox on the season. He has allowed just three runs and 12 hits while fanning 22 in 20.1 innings against them. When Jose Abreu scored in the fourth inning it was the first road run Bauer had allowed all season, breaking a streak of 16 scoreless innings away from Progressive Field. He will look to stay stingy when the Indians return home and Bauer closes out the weekend series against the Reds on Sunday.

Bauer was left without a decision Thursday despite striking out 10 and allowing just one run over 7.1 innings against the Cardinals. He gave up four hits and three walks in the eventual loss.

He entered the eighth inning with a 1-0 lead, but after a leadoff walk, Indians manager Terry Francona gave Bauer the hook. On the one hand, he was 110 pitches in; on the other hand, he had struck out the next batter, Matt Carpenter, all three times so far. Nonetheless, Francona brought in lefty Marc Rzepczynski, who promptly gave up a homer to Carpenter, denying Bauer his well-earned victory. Bauer still needs to do a better job limiting his bases on balls, but he's been racking up the strikeouts, and this was a big game for him following a three-start period of struggle that may have been precipitated by an illness.

Bauer allowed five runs on nine hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out five over five-plus innings of a 9-3 loss to Minnesota on Friday night.

Bauer (2-1, 4.19 ERA) had a dazzling April, but has now allowed 16 hits and 11 earned runs over just 9.1 innings in two May starts. Inconsistency has haunted Bauer throughout his young major league career, but he certainly has the tools to be dominant when everything clicks.

Bauer (illness) will make his next start Tuesday against the Royals, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

The Indians scratched Bauer from his scheduled start Saturday against the Tigers due to illness, and opted to leave their rotation intact for Sunday and Monday's games. As a result, Bauer will start twice during the upcoming week, making home start against Kansas City and Toronto (on Sunday).

Bauer (illness) reported feeling better Monday and believes he'll be good to make Tuesday's start against the Royals.

Bauer had his latest start pushed back due to an illness, but it appears to be passing. Manager Terry Francona has yet to officially confirm that Bauer is good to go Tuesday, but barring a setback before then, the 24-year-old should be able to make the start.

Bauer (illness) could attempt to play catch Sunday, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Bauer is still on track to start Tuesday's game against the Royals, but the Indians will need to see him first demonstrate that he's sufficiently recovered from the illness before he toes the rubber again. Affirmation on his availability for the start may not arrive until Monday.

Bauer (illness) is tentatively scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Royals, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

Assuming he gets over his illness by then and is able to through his traditional routine in the days leading up that start, Bauer will get the ball Tuesday. Monitor his status Sunday to see if he is able to throw a bullpen session or if the Indians are able to clarify the situation at all before lineups lock on Monday.

Bauer will miss his scheduled start Saturday with an illness, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

There's no word if Bauer might miss more than just Saturday, so that could be worth keeping an eye on. Bauer has been great across three starts in 2015 with a 0.95 ERA and leading the league in K/9, but that will be delayed for at least one game
