Milone signed a one-year deal with the Brewers on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Owner of a 4.14 ERA and 16.8 percent strikeout rate for his career, the veteran southpaw does not currently project to be a part of the Brewers' rotation on Opening Day. That said, he will undoubtedly be asked to eat innings, one way or another, and could step in if the Brewers were to trade one or two of their more valuable starters. Given his lack of velocity (87.3 mph average fastball in 2016), Milone does not project to be much of an asset if he moves to relief.

Milone became a free agent Monday after declining his assignment to Triple-A Rochester, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

Milone is coming off a poor 2016 campaign where he ended the year with an ERA of 5.71 over 69 innings of work for Minnesota. There's now a glimmer of hope that he'll remain at the major league level, but his most recent work for the Twins will undoubtedly have other teams around the league highly skeptical of even giving the 29-year-old a shot at fighting for a spot in their rotation when 2017 spring training rolls around.

Milone was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

Milone has shown some promise during his big league career, but his low-strikeout ways paired with his ability to give up home runs forced the Twins to send the left-hander off the 40-man roster. If he accepts the assignment, he'll likely go on to act as organizational pitching depth.

Milone (biceps) was reinstated from the DL on Friday.

EDGE Analysis

Left biceps tendinitis has kept Milone sidelined since Aug. 11. He posted a 5.68 ERA in 65 innings, mostly working as a starter, earlier this season, so even if he slots back into the rotation, there's not much reason for fantasy owners to pay attention to Milone over the season's final three weeks.

Milone (biceps) threw a 45-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

It's Milone second side session since he hit the DL on Aug. 12. With Milone enduring no setbacks while throwing, he's slated to face hitters in batting practice Tuesday for the next phase of his rehab. He looks to be on track to return to the Twins later this month.

Milone (biceps) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

Earlier reports said that Milone would throw a bullpen session Friday, but it appears that the Twins are confident enough in his progress to have him throw Wednesday. An estimated return for the 29-year-old southpaw should be known in the near future as he increases his throwing activities.

Milone (biceps) will throw a bullpen session Friday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

Milone began throwing last week, and the fact that he's now ready to continue ramping up the activity suggests an activation may not be that far away. The 29-year-old has worked primarily as a starter this year (12 starts in 15 appearances), but it remains unclear if he'll join the rotation or head to the bullpen for the final month of the season once healthy.

Milone (biceps) has started a throwing program and could return by the end of August, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Milone will likely work in relief in September when he returns as the Twins will likely give other players spots in the rotation with an eye toward 2017.

Milone's MRI on Friday revealed no structural damage, confirming that he is dealing with tendinitis in his biceps, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

EDGE Analysis

This is good news for Milone's long-term availability, as he should be able to avoid surgery, but he is still out indefinitely with tendinitis in his biceps. The Twins will continue to get by just fine without Milone, who had posted a 5.68 ERA and just 43 strikeouts in 65 innings prior to suffering the injury.

Milone (biceps) will hit the disabled list with left biceps tendinitis, Brandon Warne of Cold Omaha reports.

EDGE Analysis

Milone was roughed up by the Astros during his spot start Thursday, and underwent an MRI on his shoulder Friday. The 29-year-old will miss the next couple weeks depending on the severity of his injury, and the Twins called up Pat Dean from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move Friday.
