Stauffer signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stauffer struggled in two stops in the MLB last season, holding a 6.97 ERA in 18 appearances. However, he was excellent in the minors, going 4-1 in eight starts for Triple-A Las Vegas with a 2.48 ERA. He's a good piece in the minors and has the skill set to be an extra arm at the end of the bullpen if necessary.

Stauffer was designated for assignment Monday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move was simply a procedural one, as the Mets needed to clear room on their 40-man roster after adding Matt Reynolds to the playoff roster to replace the injured Ruben Tejada. Stauffer will enter the offseason as a free agent, and will likely be a long relief option or back of the rotation starter wherever he lands.

The Mets added Stauffer to the major league roster Tuesday, Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stauffer has been pitching at Triple-A Las Vegas since being acquired by the Mets in late-July. With the Triple-A season now over, he'll join the Mets to provide right-handed depth out of the bullpen down the stretch. Stauffer was knocked around in 13 major league games for the Twins earlier this season, surrendering 24 hits and 11 earned runs over 15 cumulative innings.

Stauffer was released by the Twins on Wednesday, LaVelle Neal of the Star-Tribune reports. Stauffer posted an ERA of 6.60 over 15 innings with the Twins this season before being designated for assignment June 10. He'll now become a free agent, but it's unclear how much interest he'll garner on the pitching market.

Stauffer will likely opt out of his contract if he clears waivers, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Stauffer had struggled with the Twins this season, pitching a 6.60 ERA and a 6:7 K:BB ratio. He said that he would like a "fresh start" with a new team, which could help him get back on track.

Stauffer was designated for assignment by the Twins. He had a 6.60 ERA and a 6:7 K:BB ratio in 15 innings. The Twins had stuck with Stauffer despite his struggles with lower velocity dating back to the start of spring training, but it looks like the finally gave up on him trying to find his form in the majors. Stauffer may approve an assignment to Triple-A Rochester to try and get his career back on track.

Stauffer was activated from the 15-day DL on Thursday, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports. Stauffer's velocity was down a couple ticks in his last rehab appearance, so he may not be very effective out of the bullpen for the Twins. He gave up three runs on six hits over five innings (four appearances) with Triple-A Rochester. Still, they deemed that he was ready to return to his role in the middle innings and he should be available for Friday's game.

Stauffer (oblique) will throw one inning with Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. He said he felt fine after his rocky previous outing, but there is no word on how many more rehab outings he will need before rejoining the Twins.

Stauffer (strained intercostal) gave up two runs and four hits and two walks in 1.1 innings in Sunday's outing for Triple-A Rochester. He was supposed to go three innings and the next step in his rehab is in doubt, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. The Twins had indicated if he was able to throw three innings they may activate him from the DL, but it sounds like he'll need another outing or more at Triple-A.

Stauffer (strained intercostal) has thrown three scoreless innings in two appearances for Triple-A Rochester. However, he "still has time to go" before being activated from the DL, GM Terry Ryan told the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. The Twins may keep Stauffer in the minors for several weeks during his rehab stint since the major league bullpen is on a roll and since Stauffer struggled before the injury.
