Jordan (elbow) was released by the Nationals on Tuesday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Nationals needed a 40-man spot for top prospect Lucas Giolito, who was called up to make his MLB debut Tuesday against the Mets. Jordan had Tommy John surgery in late May, ruling him out for the rest of the season while also putting his 2017 availability into questions.

Jordan had Tommy John surgery performed by Dr. James Andrews done on Thursday,William Ladson of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is now the second time Jordan has had to undergo this procedure. He was placed on the 7-day DL in Triple-A Syracuse on April 21 for an undisclosed reason. Unfortunately, that reason turned out to be a shoulder injury in need of surgery. There is currently no timetable for a return, but his 2016 season has come to an untimely end.

Jordan was placed on the 7-day DL at Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, Kevin Brown of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The reason for the DL placement is unknown at this time, but Jordan will miss at least a week. the 27-year-old, who made four appearances for the Nats last season, is off to a strong start at Syracuse this season, holding a 1.72 ERA while allowing just three earned runs across 15.2 innings, despite conceding 16 hits.

Jordan was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Jordan's lone appearance this spring did not go particularly well as he allowed three runs on three hits in just one inning of work. He'll join Wilmer Difo and Matt Grace among players optioned down to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Jordan was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Jordan has spent some time in the majors this season, working to a 5.29 ERA in four appearances. He's worked solely as a starter in the minors, but figures to serve primarily as another relief option for the big league club.

Jordan was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, MLB.com's William Ladson reports. The Nationals are swapping out long relievers, recalling Taylor Hill as a corresponding move. Jordan could be brought up again this season but he's unlikely to be used in a very fantasy-relevant role.

Jordan was called up from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports. With Stephen Strasburg (oblique) landing on the disabled list Sunday, Jordan was brought aboard to fortify the Nationals' pitching depth. While he could be a candidate to assume Strasburg's spot in the rotation for Friday in Baltimore, it seems more likely that current long man Tanner Roark would be tabbed for those duties. If that's the case, don't expect Jordan -- who posted a 8.44 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over two appearances with the Nationals earlier this season -- too see anything other than low-leverage work.

Updating a previous report, Jordan will not start the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies. Jordan was viewed as the leading candidate to take the hill for Game 2 after he was scratched from his scheduled turn at Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, but the Nationals opted to go with long reliever Tanner Roark for the nightcap. Had the Nationals not received an excellent outing from starter Stephen Strasburg in Game 1 and been forced to dig deeper into their bullpen, Jordan likely would have been called upon to make the start. Instead, the Nationals will bring up infielder Wilmer Difo from Double-A Harrisburg to serve as their 26th man for the doubleheader.

The Nationals are yet to announce a starter for the second game of Sunday's doubleheader, but Jordan is a candidate to get the nod, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports. Jordan was scratched from his start at Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday night, so it looks as though the Nats have him on standby in case they decide to send him to the mound for Game 2. Jordan has appeared in two games for Washington this season, making one start, and he's allowed a disastrous 10 earned runs and 16 hits across 10.2 innings.

The Nationals optioned Jordan to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, MLB.com's Bill Ladson reports. Jordan was touched up for seven earned runs over six innings in Wednesday's game, and will be unavailable for the next few days, so the Nationals decided to send him back to Syracuse to open a roster spot. Jordan figures to be an option for the big club again later this season.
