The Houston Astros activated pitcher Scott Feldman from the disabled list Saturday after he recovered from a knee injury, according to the team's official website. Feldman is scheduled to start Saturday against the Texas Rangers.

Feldman (knee) could rejoin the Houston rotation immediately after the All-Star break, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.

In what was likely his final appearance of the rehab assignment, Feldman threw nearly 90 pitches in Friday's start for Double-A Corpus Christi, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over five innings. He'll likely enter the rotation as the No. 3 or 4 starter after the All-Star break, and his spot should be pretty secure. If the Astros trade for a starting pitcher, Dan Straily will likely be the one dropped from the rotation.

Feldman (knee) made his first rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday, throwing 62 pitches over three innings, Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Feldman is scheduled one more rehab start, but he could end up making more as he builds up innings and regains his feel. "He had 60-plus pitches in three innings," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said of the veteran right-hander. "It's not as efficient as he is going to need to be, but for the first time against competition in a couple months, you know, more than anything, it was important for him to just face hitters and get acclimated with competing again." Feldman is not expected to return until after the All-Star break.

Feldman (knee) will make a rehab start Sunday with Double-A Corpus Christi, the Houston Chronicle's Evan Drellich reports.

He will need to make at least two rehab starts before he can rejoin the Astros, so he will probably not be back in the big leagues until after the All-Star break. Dan Straily would seem to be the obvious candidate for Feldman to replace when he is ready. Prior to the knee injury the 32-year-old lefty had a 4.80 ERA and just 37 strikeouts in 60 innings, so it's not even a given that Feldman will be locked into a rotation spot the rest of the way if he can't turn his season around.

Feldman (knee) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

Feldman resumed mound work a few days ago and is ready to take another step forward in his recovery from a torn meniscus. He could be a rotation option for the Astros after the All-Star break.

Feldman (knee) threw off of a mound Thursday, the Houston Chronicle reports.

Feldman, who has been on the DL since May 27, continues to work back from a torn meniscus. The Astros aren't expecting Feldman to return until after the All-Star break.

Feldman was placed on the 15-day DL Friday after undergoing surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus and is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.

While Michael Feliz was called up as a corresponding move, it won't be to take Feldman's spot in the rotation. Instead, Brett Oberholtzer figures to be a candidate to slot into the rotation while Feldman is out, or the Astros could opt to promote Vincent Velasquez from Double-A to step into the rotation.

Feldman limited the Orioles to one run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts over six innings Tuesday to earn his fourth victory of the season.

Despite walking three in the contest, Feldman (4-4) only holds a 2.10 BB/9 this season, which would qualify as a career-best mark in a season for him. The veteran right-hander will face Baltimore again for his next start Monday, this time at Minute Maid Park where he holds a 5.50 ERA this season.

Feldman gave up 10 hits and five runs (four earned) in six innings during Thursday's loss to Detroit. He struck out two and walked one.

Feldman made it through three scoreless innings to start, but then the wheels came off after a two-run homer by Nick Castellanos in the fourth. He gave up two more in the fifth and another in the sixth before his day came to an end. Feldman had actually turned in consecutive quality starts coming into Thursday, but his season numbers don't play in most fantasy formats and he retains fantasy utility of any sort only in AL-only formats.

Feldman went 6.2 innings en route to a win with 10 strikeouts in the 6-5 win against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Feldman allowed three runs in the game, but only five hits surprisingly. This was easily his best game of the season, holding down such a potent offense like the Blue Jays. Feldman faces another dominant offense when he pitches against Detroit in his next start next Thursday.
