Vincent picked up his second save of the season Wednesday, striking out two and working around a hit in a scoreless ninth against Detroit.

EDGE Analysis

Although the M's had a two-run lead, this was no easy save chance, as Vincent had to face the heart of the Tigers' order, but he did so in impressive fashion. After missing a month-plus with a back injury, Vincent's looked sharp in two appearances off the DL, and it's nice for him to get the rare save. Regular closer Edwin Diaz had pitched four of the prior five days (and six of eight), so he was due for a break.

Vincent (back) was activated from the 15-day DL on Sunday, MLB.com's Greg Johns reports.

EDGE Analysis

Vincent had been out since late June with a mid-back strain, but after completing a successful rehab assignment at Low-A Everett a few days earlier, he's been cleared to join the big club. Look for the right-hander to serve in a setup capacity to new closer Edwin Diaz.

Vincent (back) will commence his rehab assignment Friday, during a one-inning outing with Low-A Everett, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Vincent recently threw a 20-pitch simulated inning Tuesday after being placed on the 15-day DL with a strained back. He also tossed a bullpen session last weekend, and appears ready for his brief rehab appearance Friday to see if he's ready to return. Vincent could be back with the Mariners by next week barring any setbacks.

Vincent (back) threw a 20-pitch simulated inning Tuesday, Bob Dutton of TheNewsTribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

Vincent was placed on the 15-day DL with a strained back on June 29 but threw a bullpen session Saturday and advanced to a simulated inning Tuesday. The 30-year-old commented after the outing that his back "feels good" and there was "no pain". If he continues to progress smoothly in the coming days, he could set out on a rehab assignment by the end of the week.

Vincent (back) will throw a simulated inning Tuesday and will start a rehab assignment later in the week if all goes well, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

EDGE Analysis

A back injury has kept Vincent sidelined since June 26. He owns a 3.47 ERA and 1.05 WHIP over 36.1 relief innings this season. He likely won't need more than a few rehab innings, so a return within the next two weeks is possible barring any aggravation of the injury.

Vincent (back) will throw a bullpen session Saturday and is set to begin a rehab assignment shortly, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Vincent has been out since June 26 but continues to take steps in the right direction. Barring any setbacks, he should be back in the Seattle bullpen soon.

Vincent (back) could start a rehab assignment next week, the Seattle Times' Ryan Divish reports.

EDGE Analysis

He will throw a bullpen session this weekend and presumably another such session early next week, after which he will head out on a rehab assignment. Upon his return, Vincent will serve as mid-inning reliever for the Mariners.

Vincent was placed on the 15-day DL with a mid back strain on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Vincent will hit the DL while Wade Miley is activated in a corresponding move. The 29-year-old has been a solid reliever for the Mariners this season, posting a 3.47 ERA and 1.05 WHIP, although he has blown five out of six save attempts on the season.

Vincent suffered the loss against Minnesota on Saturday, allowing four hits and one run over two innings of work.

EDGE Analysis

Pitching the seventh and eighth innings, Vincent didn't have a terrible outing, but allowed the game-winning run to score on a Miguel Sano single. This was the second straight appearance in which the right-hander allowed a run and his ERA has gone from 1.50 to 2.45 this month. However, Vincent's 22 appearances rank second among Mariners relievers, a trend that should continue going forward.

Vincent struck out two batters in one inning pitched in Wednesday's loss to the Astros.

EDGE Analysis

At a glance, Vincent's 2016 ERA of 1.93 and 0.43 WHIP would lead one to believe that he is having a very strong season. However, in only 9.1 innings pitched, he has already given up two home runs. This is very unlike Vincent, who has never had a HR/9 greater than 0.82. If he can get back to limiting the amount of home runs he allows, Vincent's ability to strike batters out while not allowing many walks will be valuable to the Mariners.
