The Twins released Kohn (biceps) on Sunday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Kohn out through at least July with nerve irritation in his right biceps, the Twins elected to part ways with the pitcher rather than stashing him on the minor-league disabled list and overseeing his rehab. Once Kohn is healthy, it's possible that he could re-sign with the Twins or join another club on a minor-league pact. Injuries have undermined Kohn's career in recent seasons, as the 31-year-old has logged just 29.2 total innings between the majors and minors since 2014.

Kohn was placed on the DL at Triple-A Gwinnett due to a strained right shoulder, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. Kohn, who was optioned to Triple-A last week, will be on the shelf for a couple of weeks, ruling out any chance that he'd be called up for another major league stint.

Kohn was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Kohn appeared in six games with the big league club this stint, pitching 4.2 scoreless innings though he struggled with his command to the tune of a 4:6 K:BB ratio. Williams Perez was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move, so Kohn will rejoin Gwinnett and serve as bullpen depth within the organization.

Kohn has been called up by the Braves, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Kohn has decently solid career ERA (3.67), but that comes with an FIP of 4.93 that screams regression. He can get strikeouts, averaging nearly a K per inning, but his walk rate and horrible and could lead to some rough innings for Atlanta.

Kohn was reassigned to minor league camp Monday. The veteran righty has some significant control issues, and doesn't figure to see many high-leverage looks even if he is able to pitch his way back to the big leagues. Look for him to start the year in Triple-A.

Kohn agreed to a minor league contract with the Braves on Thursday that includes an invite to spring training. Kohn's 3.04 ERA in 25 appearances with the Angels last season is deceiving, as he issued a whopping 20 free passes in 23.2 innings and benefited greatly from a .192 BABIP and 4.0 percent HR/FB rate. It's a low-risk investment for the Braves, who will allow Kohn to compete for one of their final bullpen spots this spring.

Kohn declined his outright assignment to Triple-A Durham and will become a free agent, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Rays signed Kohn in October but designated him assignment just over a month later, making his stay with the club brief. He shouldn't have much trouble earning an invite to spring training with a club, but he may have to settle for a minor-league contract.

Kohn has been outrighted to Triple-A Durham after clearing waivers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Though he signed a one-year deal with the Rays last month, Kohn has been assigned to Triple-A Durham after clearing waivers. The 28-year-old righty has a solid 3.67 ERA over 110.1 big-league innings, but control (6.0 BB/9) has always been an issue. Kohn will likely get a chance to land a spot in the Rays' bullpen coming out of spring training.

Kohn was designated for assignment by the Rays on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Kohn signed a one-year deal with the Rays in October, but his designation for assignment likely indicates the Rays weren't sold on him being part of the bullpen.

Kohn signed a one-year contract with the Rays on Thursday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports. Despite issuing 20 walks in 23.2 innings, Kohn allowed just eight earned runs while with the big club in 2014 (3.04 ERA), which was good enough to earn him a major league offer from Tampa. Kohn can dial his fastball up close to the mid-90s and compliments it with a slider and a changeup. The right-hander figures to break camp with a spot toward the front end of the Rays' bullpen.
