Martin arrived at camp Wednesday after being delayed by personal issues, Shannon Drayer of MyNorthwest.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

Martin testified in a Cuban human-trafficking trial Tuesday in Miami. Projected to be the Mariners' starting center fielder again in 2017, he should be back to normal spring training activities shortly. Martin hit .247 and stole a team-leading 24 bases last season, his first in Seattle.

Martin will be late to camp as he deals with some personal issues, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

EDGE Analysis

It's probably nothing to worry about from a fantasy standpoint. Martin is coming off a productive first season with the Mariners, in which he hit a career-high 15 home runs and slashed .247/.306/.378 over 143 games. He'll presumably enter camp as the Mariners' everyday centerfielder.

Martin agreed to a one-year, $4.85 million contract with the Mariners on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

Martin played reasonably well over 143 games last season, batting .247/.306/.378 with 15 homers and 24 steals. He also provides plus defense in center field, so he should be locked into a near-everyday role to begin 2017. He's a viable mixed-league starter and a quality AL-only option.

EDGE Analysis

Martin has started every game since Sept. 10, but is out of the lineup Sunday. Guillermo Heredia will start in center field in place of Martin for the Mariners' season finale.

Martin totaled three hits, three runs, an RBI and two stolen bases on Wednesday in a win at the Astros.

EDGE Analysis

Martin struggled for much of the second half, but in the last few weeks he seems to have found his from again. In 16 games since Sept. 11, he's hitting .286 with a homer, four doubles and six stolen bases.

Martin tied a career high with four hits, including three doubles, Monday in a win at the Angels.

EDGE Analysis

Martin's big night boosted his average to .250 for the first time since July 30. He has struggled most of the second half, but he is still contributing in runs and stolen bases with eight runs and a steal in his last 10 games. He's five runs from the career-high 68 he set in 2014. He also has 17 stolen bases.

Martin is out of the lineup Saturday against the A's.

EDGE Analysis

This is a rare day off for Martin, who has started the last 55 games, but he has hit just .235/.291/.335 with three homers and eight steals over that stretch, so it's odd that he wasn't taken out of the lineup sooner. Ben Gamel will get the start in center field and hit eighth Saturday, and Gamel could start to play more down the stretch if Martin continues to slump.

Martin stole his 14th base of the season Friday but continued his recent slump with a lone single in four at-bats.

EDGE Analysis

Martin had a .751 OPS on July 30, but in his last 18 games he has no extra-base hits and two multi-hit games, batting .210/.243/.210 for a .453 OPS in 71 plate appearances. He'll continue to start in center field -- there aren't a ton of options -- but the Mariners need him to pick it up.

Martin went 2-for-4 with a single, two-RBI double and a run in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Cubs.

EDGE Analysis

The Cuban slugger drove in the go-ahead runs in the eighth with a double to left center, plating Shawn O'Malley and Nori Aoki and erasing a 1-0 deficit in the process. Martin has multi-hit efforts in three of the last four contests and has hit safely in five of his last six games overall.

Martin went 2-for-5 with two home runs, including a walk-off solo shot in the bottom of the 11th inning Wednesday against the White Sox.

EDGE Analysis

Martin also hit a two-run homer in the second that started the comeback win, and he now has a career-high 13 on the season. His previous season high was eight homers in 457 at-bats with Texas in 2013. Wednesday performance busted a couple of poor streaks the outfielder was riding, including a three-game hitless skid and a home run drought dating back to June 23.
