Donaldson (flu-like symptoms) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game in Kansas City, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports.

Donaldson was removed from Saturday's game feeling ill, and with the forecast calling for a scorching day in Kansas City, it's not surprising that he'll be held out of the lineup. He should have enough time to recover before the All-Star Game.

Donaldson was removed from Saturday's game against the Royals due to flu-like symptoms, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports.

It's possible Donaldson is just bothered by fatigue and/or dehydration, with the Blue Jays playing in hot weather after Friday's game was delayed by rain. Even if he does have an illness, he may try to return for the final game of the season's first half.

Donaldson went 2-for-3 with a home run in Monday's loss to the White Sox.

With hits coming at a premium against Chris Sale, Donaldson continued his strong start, blasting his 20th home run of the season. He's now first in the AL in runs and has been everything the Blue Jays wanted and more after acquiring him this offseason. He received the most votes in All-Star Game history and should continue to be one of the premier players at his position down the home stretch.

Donaldson continues to fill up the box score on a nightly basis, moving into the top-five in the American league in home runs (19), RBI (51), slugging percentage (.546) and runs scored (60). If he can keep up this production into the second-half of the season, he will certainly receive MVP votes as he confidently holds down the second spot in the Blue Jays' powerful lineup.

Donaldson is out of the starting lineup Monday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.

Donaldson has played in all 71 of the team's games thus far this season and could use a day off. He's hitting for an incredible .302/.363/.548 slash line with 17 home runs, 46 RBI and an AL-leading 56 runs scored. With no indication of this being anything other than a routine day off, Donaldson remains as one of the top third basemen in the league.

Donaldson went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer in a 6-4 win against the Twins on Friday.

Donaldson is on a major power binge right now, as he's homered in four straight games. With 10 runs scored and 10 RBI in that span, he's starting to look like he'll be worthy of some MVP votes if he can keep this going. Of course, he can't stay this hot, but Donaldson has been the best third baseman in fantasy this year, bar none. If you're lucky enough to own him, you're reaping the rewards.
