That's seven quality starts in eight outings for Zimmermann, and after a slow start in the strikeout department, he now has a decent 19:5 K:BB ratio in his last four starts and 26 innings (a K rate comparable to his performance prior to 2014). Zimmermann produced a quality start on Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks over six innings, striking out two.

It's his fifth straight QS and sixth in seven starts this season, but Zimmermann's 4.20 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB ratio in 40.2 innings are still a disappointment. On the bright side, he was consistently hitting 94 mph with his fastball again after experiencing a velocity drop coming out of spring training, so strikeouts and better results may be on their way.

He didn't pick up a win, but it was a very encouraging start for Zimmermann who had gotten off to a rough start to the 2015 season. He was spotting his pitches better, and needed just 79 pitches (55 for strikes) to cover the six innings. He'll try to build on this outing in his next start.

Zimmermann took the loss on Saturday, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks over 6.1 innings, striking out three.

He didn't have his best stuff, but the ongoing Ian Desmond Follies on defense behind him doomed any chance Zimmermann might have had of scratching out a win. His 6.14 ERA through three games is ugly, but his fantasy owners should be patient with him, as a turnaround could begin as soon as his next start in Miami.
