Zimmerman (personal) has been activated from the paternity list and will get the start Saturday against Baltimore.

Zimmerman was placed on the paternity list Friday, but has already returned to the ball club and will be on the bump for his final start before the All-Star break. He has a 7-5 record with a 3.04 ERA over 17 starts this season, and will go for his eighth win of the season Saturday in the hitter-friendly confines of Camden Yards.

Zimmermann (personal) is expected to start Saturday's game against the Orioles.

Zimmermann was placed on the paternity list Friday, so it's a bit surprising that he will return Saturday to make a start. However, the All-Star break is on tap, which would allow him extra time to spend with his family.

Zimmerman was placed on the paternity list Friday.

Zimmerman was a candidate to start either Saturday or Sunday against the Orioles, but the Nationals now figure to use Doug Fister (Sat.) and Max Scherzer (Sun.). With the All-Star break coming up, the timing is excellent for both Zimmerman's family and the Nationals.

Zimmermann picked up his seventh win of the season Sunday, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk over seven innings, striking out eight.

He got the benefit of some shaky umpiring from Phil Cuzzi, but Zimmermann was still in firm control of this one from the jump with his only mistake resulting in a solo shot by Brandon Crawford. His next start is currently scheduled for Saturday in Baltimore, but if the Nats elect to use a four-man rotation until the All-Star break due to Stephen Strasburg's latest DL stint, Zimmermann would slide up to Friday instead.

Zimmermann spun a gem Tuesday, shutting out the Braves for 7.2 innings to earn the win.

Zimmermann struck out six and didn't walk a batter in the impressive start. The righty has now registered 15.2 shut out innings in his last two starts, lowering his ERA to 3.16. His next start will come this weekend against the Giants.

Zimmermann (5-5) pitched eight scoreless innings on Wednesday to earn the no decision against Atlanta. He gave up six hits to go along with three strikeouts without walking a batter.

Zimmermann was very impressive on Wednesday and showed great command throughout the night. Unfortunately for him, he didn't receive any run support. Zimmermann holds a 3.42 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP and will continue to be a solid fantasy option in mixed leagues while playing for a very good Nationals team.

Zimmerman gave up three runs on eight hits across seven innings pitched in Wednesday's loss to Tampa Bay.

Zimmerman walked one and struck out eight to earn the loss which brings him to an even record of 5-5. He didn't get any run support as the Nationals were shutout by an assortment of five Ray's pitchers. Zimmerman will look to get back on track against the Braves at home in his next start.

Zimmermann (5-4) lasted just 3.1 innings in a disastrous start in Milwaukee on Friday. He gave up six runs on nine hits while walking one and striking out four in the loss.

Zimmermann has given up 19 hits and ten earned runs in 8.1 innings over his last two starts. While Zimmerman's hittability can be partially explained by a career-worst .337 BABIP against, owners have to be worried about his career-low 6.08 K/9. The 29-year-old has proven his ability in years past, but his current 3.74 ERA is a far cry from last season's 2.66. Zimmermann will have a chance to rebound on Wednesday against the Rays.

Zimmerman fell to 5-3 Sunday, as he allowed four runs on 10 hits and two walks over five innings against the Cubs.

The veteran simply allowed too many baserunners on the day, as he loaded the bases multiple times and paid the price on a pair of occasions. Zimmerman's ERA still sits at a rock solid 3.18 on the season as the four runs were the most he's allowed in nearly two months, and he will face the lowly Brewers Saturday in his next start.

Zimmermann tossed eight scoreless innings Tuesday, allowing six hits and one walk while striking out four against the Blue Jays to pick up his fifth win of the season.

He threw a season-high 105 pitches en route to his third win in his last four starts. In fact, Zimmermann has not lost since falling to 1-2 on Apr. 18 and he has a 0.96 ERA over his last 28 innings. Obviously there won't be a massive amount of strikeouts with Zimmermann, but when he is on, there are few pitchers who are better at preventing runs.
