Heyward went 1-for-4 Saturday with a solo home run, his first bomb of the season.

He's had a slow start to his career as a Cardinal, hitting just .227 (10-for-44) with three RBI through his first 10 games. If Heyward doesn't pick up his pace soon, he may find himself bumped down from the two-hole in the batting order.

Heyward went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two doubles in Sunday's win over the Cubs.

Heyward delivered an impressive debut with his new team, reaching on his first three at-bats and scoring the teams first run of the season. He's in a better lineup on a better team this season and certainly has the potential to post career-best numbers in 2015.

Heyward should reach double-digit stolen bases with ease this year, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Manager Mike Matheny indicated he will stay aggressive on the basepaths in 2015 and that his runners should have a green light most of the time. Heyward has swiped 20+ bases twice in his five-year career, including last season, and at just 25-years old is a good bet to approach that number again this year.

Heyward is hitting out of the second spot in the lineup to open spring training for the Cardinals Thursday, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Not much of a surprise here as Matheny indicated early and often that he'd prefer Heyward in the second spot of the lineup. There's several variables at play this spring that could change that, though, including the performances of Kolten Wong and Jon Jay. If Heyward doesn't hit in the second spot he'll likely be in the middle of the lineup, but given his struggles against lefties it's possible he could hit farther down in the lineup on those days.

Heyward was traded to the Cardinals on Monday.

Heyward was traded along with Jordan Walden in exchange for Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins. He is under contract through the 2015 season, but the Cardinals could make a deal to keep him in St. Louis. The 25-year-old outfielder will hit .271/.351/.384 with 11 home runs and 58 RBI last season with the Braves, and could see an increase in production with a move into a better offensive lineup from a club that scored the second-least runs in 2014.

Heyward (thumb) is back in the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates.

Heyward missed four games with swelling in his left thumb and was still unable to grip a bat Sunday. However, his condition has apparently improved, and he'll be back in the mix, batting fifth and playing his usual right field, against the Pirates and starter Gerrit Cole.

Heyward (thumb) remains out of the lineup Monday against the Pirates.

Heyward was unable grip a bat Sunday due to swelling in his thumb, and will now miss his fourth straight game as a result. He remains hopeful for a return still this season, but in the meantime, Emilio Bonifacio will continue to see work in right field.

Heyward is still unable to properly grip a bat due to swelling in his left thumb, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.

Heyward will miss his third straight game Sunday afternoon, and although manager Fredi Gonzalez noted that a Monday return was possible, the outfielder doesn't appear optimistic. After Sunday, the Braves have just seven games remaining on their schedule, but it doesn't appear that Heyward is done for 2014 just yet. He'll likely have to complete a successful batting practice session before he returns to action, however. Fantasy owners with weekly lineups may want to explore other options due to the uncertainty.

Heyward (thumb) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets.

Heyward will miss his third straight game as a result of a thumb ailment that has kept the right fielder out of action since Wednesday. Emilio Bonifacio will get the starting nod in his stead, as the Braves continue to take a cautious approach.
