Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Monday that he's not sure whether Curtis Granderson or Brett Gardner will play center field this season.
It was reported earlier this offseason that the Yankees were thinking about moving Granderson to left field and playing Gardner in center field, but no decisions have been made. "We have two center fielders, as we've had for three years, manning two-thirds of our outfield," said Cashman. "It's something we'll talk about. It's certainly something that's possible, but it's not something we've moved on." One concern expressed by Yankees manager Joe Girardi is that Granderson has only played a total of 22 games (three starts) in left field during his nine-year major league career.
