The Marlins don't expect Juan Carlos Oviedo (elbow) to pitch this season.
"This is not looking good for him to pitch for us this year," said Marlins president Larry Beinfest. "He was definitely in the plan. We anticipated him pitching for us. But right now we have to move ahead with the thought that he is not going to." Oviedo, formerly known as Leo Nunez, was diagnosed with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow over the weekend. It's not yet known if he'll attempt to rehab the injury or undergo Tommy John surgery, but odds are he has already thrown his last pitch as a member of the Marlins.
Wow...seriously bad karma.
